Stan
SOURCE http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2006/09/06/1809706.html Search for daughter has mother frantic Red Deer teen has been missing for three days By SARAH KENNEDY, CALGARY SUN The mother of a missing 16-year-old said she’s beginning to fear the worst after three days have passed with no word from her daughter. Choking back sobs, Suzanne Ashley said she has been wandering the streets and malls in Lacombe and Red Deer in search of her daughter Kiah, who suffers from severe epilepsy. “I have absolutely no idea where she is,” she said. “I’m completely lost. “Every day that goes by I just worry more and more.” Suzanne said it’s completely out of character for Kiah, a popular, straight-A student with the Parkview Adventist Academy in Lacombe, to be away this long without contacting her friends and family. Kiah was last seen Sunday evening after a friend’s parent dropped her off in Red Deer where she was supposed to meet with Verla Matacio, dean of the dormitory at her school, said Suzanne. “Kiah loves her, she calls her her second mom,” she said. But Kiah never met with Matacio and no one has heard from her since. Suzanne said things had been going great in her daughter’s life — the teen had gone over a month without having a seizure and the two of them had just returned home Saturday from a fabulous vacation. “We took over 200 pictures...she’s a tremendous photographer,” said Suzanne. “She was really excited about returning to school Tuesday and we were supposed to go back-to-school shopping for new jeans.” Red Deer RCMP said they are actively looking for Kiah and are concerned that she didn’t have her medication with her when she left her home on Sunday. Police say at this point in the investigation there is nothing to suggest foul play. Suzanne said she feels hopeless and is desperate for any information that could lead her to her youngest child. Anyone with information can call the RCMP at 403-341-2000. Nicodema
Oh my ... that is really awful. That poor mom! I do hope and pray her precious girl is all right. Please PLEASE Lord, let her be found soon -- alive! And in good health, or at least a recoverable condition. Please, Lord. Please. Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Halfstep Denise
Stan - Is there any new news regarding missing SDA teenager, Kiah Ashley? Not only would I like to know, but my dad has been asking. He requested prayer for her at the Port Townsend, Washington church. Nicodema
Glad she was found, but now I wonder what all the fuss was about? From the sound of the first article I had the impression she was MISSING ... like for a longer time. I wonder what the story was? Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. darlene
I'm very happy they found Kiah. I wasn't told she had been missing. Her mother, Suzanne, was my 'little sister' when we attended CUC way back.... She was in highschool and I was in college. Suzanne's brother, Fred, is still my 'little brother' here in Abbotsford. Nicodema
You all attended CUC, Darlene? When? Quote "After such knowledge, what forgiveness?" -- T.S. Eliot
darlene
Yes, we did attend CUC - Canadian University College. I attended in the late sixties and early seventies as did Suzanne and Fred.
