Stan
Where is the balance between our comfort, and relieving the comfort of others? Between the size of our home, and adventist kids, now orphans, who live in a cardboard box in whatever country? Between our financial security, and the 8 year old girl who can not pay the $3.00 per month for School Fees? Between us spending $1-200 or more on a meal with family and friends, and adventist kids who skip eating every other day. What assurance is there that our gifts help those in need and not just providing income for someone to take photos of the weak, the wounded and the weary? Quote If you receive benefit to being here please help out with expenses. https://www.paypal.me/clubadventist Administrator of a few websites like https://adventistdating.com
Dr. Shane
Quote: What assurance is there that our gifts help those in need Charitable groups operating out of the US can be researched on Charity Navigator. The age old question is should I give my old clothing to the needy OR should I be buying the needy new clothing. I think it comes down to what God moves an individual to do. I don't see any one answer that is for everyone. In my family, we have decided to live in a humble home so we have more money to help others and work in the mission field. I think one thing for sure, if a person is living in a house they cannot afford to have a 15-year morgage on, they are living above their means. 30-year morgages do nothing but make the banker rich. Thousands are dollars are given to bankers due to 30-year morgages that could be used for other things. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Administrators Gail Posted October 15, 2006 Administrators Share Posted October 15, 2006 I've always had this theory that if everyone planted one food tree in their yard there would be enough food to go around Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. cricket
There is also the theory that if everyone just paid an honest tithe, there'd be enough to go around.
