Members rudywoofs (Pam)
no....BofA said they had been tracking someone in a company (would not tell me which one) who they were pretty sure was copying customers' CC numbers and personal info and selling them to places in the Ukraine and elsewhere... It'd be nice to know which company. I do buy a lot from Amazon and they seem to be very timely with the deliveries. There have been warning out not to use the independent ATM in corner stores etc etc. One of my friends did in a store close to the Glendale Adventist Hospital and the card, with the pin number of course, was used within 15 minutes in Los Vegas. Those can be easily modified to capture your card number, expiry date, pin number etc all they need to take over the assets of the card. I would be interested to know if you have ever used those Pam. Doug
I wonder if those gift Visa/Mastercards can be used at ATM's and gas stations. I am thinking of switching my regular cards for something like that, then if someone steals your pin, they can only take whatever you have on the card, not empty your account. Also virtual credit card numbers. Bank of America and another credit card company has these, you tell them how much you wasnt to spend for a product, then they make a virtual cc number with a limit for that amount, and you also set the expiration date, so after the purchase the card is no good.
