Jerry Rogers
I have a son at Collegedale who just arrived this afternoon (9-23-04), with others from Southern University, in the town of Century to help with the relief efforts. He called on his cell phone to say it looks like a wide tornado path that just goes on and on. Almost every other tree is uprooted - devastation all over the place. At least they have some cell phone towers back up so there is communication. Quote Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care. Jerry Rogers
Here's the latest scoop - He is with about 15 students from Southern and there is a group from Fletcher Academy in N.C. helping along with ADRA. They are basically doing two things - clearing trees off of and around people's houses and putting tarps on people's roofs to prevent more rain from coming in. I'm enclosing a picture he sent from his camera cell phone. Quote Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care.
