Melia, this was your Uncle? He looked like he was a very caring and understanding person. I am sorry to hear that.

The number of death is 3. In my life experience and in my family & friends, death has always come in 3's.

My Uncle Howard Jan 16, 2008

My Aunt Margaret

Margaret I. Engstrom

Margaret Isabelle Engstrom died Feb. 10, 2008, at age 82.

Margaret Isabelle Davis was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Billings, Mont., and moved to Portland as a teenager. She worked in Eve's Restaurant in the Peninsula Fred Meyer and later was a billing clerk for ONC Freight. In 1945, she married James Engstrom Sr.; they divorced.

Survivors include her sons, James Jr., Thomas and Samuel; sister, Jean Osterman; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements by Gresham Memorial Chapel.

And now My aunt Jean. March 7, 2008 10:30pm pacific time.

Jean.jpg

This picture was taken Jan 28, 2008 when the family got together for Howards memorial reunion. Aunt Jean. Cousins Gerry (standing), Butch (Howard after his dad), and Barbara Jean.

Aunt Jean was wife to Howard and sister to Margaret and my mother Patricia and Richard their brother. The first set of 3 to pass was My mother, my uncle Richard and his wife Genevieve. Now all of that generation has past on to their rest. It's a sobering thought when a generation passes. I still have my poppy 83 and two aunts(his sisters)ages 81&79. My brother is 62. My sister is 58 and I am 48. I wonder if we will all go in 3's too?

I hate death and am so glad that I worship a God that hates death too. I pray that you will find comfort from your family and church and be able to provide comfort too.

Sorry for the losses Amelia. It certainly is sobering to realise that your generation is now the oldest - or 'next'.

God bless.

Amelia, it tends to be a bit rattling or unsettling when your parents' siblings depart this earth. I really do feel hurt for you.

Sad to say; sometimes it helps us to long for Heaven with much more fervor.

Just keep looking up and listening for the midnight cry! ~Kate
