Neil D
It has come to my attention that some threads are too narrow...and must be limited to just the topic at hand.... This thread will be about anything and everything, as long as there is humor in it....and be warned...humor can be rejected...if it is, that part of this subject must be dropped and some other aspect to the thread must be brought out.... To get us started somewheres, I would like to propose that the thinking of women and men, while different, poses a whole host of humorous commments.... besides, has anyone seen the wired circuitry of women balled up and touching all other subjects and yet remain as clear and thoughtful ...whereas men, whose thinking is neat and clean in boxes, have never seen my son's room [or any other male room] in the primest of cluttered condition....is that not reflective of men's thinking? Neil D
Quote: primest of cluttered condition Hmmm. Sounds like someone I know I hate it when people insist on being obtuse in a humor thread when specifics are far more fun than nebulous guessing on whom it could be.... You, obviously, are NOT refering to ME! so I must conclude that it is either David or Bravus...Since David admitted to a recent LIBERAL intent and that of voting for a progressive liberal canidate, you MUST be refering to him..... Doesn't it sound similar to CVA? When the left brain is affected the result will be right-sided weakness, OPPOSITE result. Well, I hope is not the same with any other things. David Koot
I will simply comment on something that a former girlfriend said to me. She said, "Isn't it ironic that women are so tidy and organized when it comes to housework and the home, but they are emotional wrecks." Now, Neil and company, that was NOT my statement. A woman made that statement. So I don't need to hide behind Neil's boulder.
Woody
Are you suggesting that Neil has had a CVA or his son? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Neil D
Has anyone seen the Mad Hatter recently? Um...do we have a "Mad Hatter" here????? Okay, okay, Neil, here you are characterizing me as a FELLOW conservative (we all know your secret conservative leanings and that the 'Calvin' persona is all show) when in reality I may not even be subject to categorization. But as for McCain, I am running scared. There is something unsettling. I feel like he is the one person, looking back over the last fifty years, who might press the button to start a nuclear holocaust. AND that he is a very likely candidate to implement a national Sunday law. Picture Douglas MacArthur in the White House. There you have my take on the man. Hope you don't mind, David, but I brought this here, as a way to keep the other thread from being hijacked...mea culpa, folks... And while you THINK that I might be willing to vote that way, I was pondering the idea the other day. "What would cause me to vote McCain for President"?...I was thinking that I would vote for McCain back in 2000 when he was running, but I think that we have a much more intelligent and appealing persons in either of the democrates, Obama and Clinton...So, yeah, of the republican canidates, I might stomach him....but the things that he nauseates me on is the fact that he has courted the ultra conservative religionists during th last 8 years that I am not sure that he is a good canidate...Rather, I tend to think that he is like Hillary, desires the office, and is willing to do anything to get it. and I don't hold to dirty politics.... David Koot
(we all know your secret conservative leanings and that the 'Calvin' persona is all show) Notice that not only did Neil NOT dispute this statement when originally made, but he actually QUOTED it in his own post. Clearly, Neil acknowledges that he DOES have conservative leanings and that Calvin is all show. At last, the truth comes out!

David Koot
I did take the time to watch the clip. It is indeed hilarious. I am puzzled how ordinary people who have any level of education OR common sense could fall for such a story. It is indeed rather preposterous. This is not the first time I have been exposed to the teachings, but it is a reminder. Dave

David Koot
Perhaps one need only like in the mirror to answer that 'deep and wide' question. Let me know what you think after doing so.

D. Allan
Alice faces a looking glass (mirror) and is standing at a level so that her eyes appear to her to be right at the top of the mirror . At the position she is standing, she can just see her belt buckle at the bottom of the mirror. If she steps back far enough α. she will be eventually able to see all of herself in the mirror at the same time. β. she will see no change in how much of herself she can see. γ. she will see less of herself as she steps back. δ. some other result (explain) Quote dAb O frabjous day! David Koot
Bravus, the scientist and professor, chose . . . 'alpha'? Consider this: IF the mirror is a flat surface, then the image will reflect back to exactly the same point. There is no perspective to consider. Hence it would not matter if a person were two feet away from it, or twenty feet. The only variance would result from irregularities in the reflective surface. Optical-grade glass is typically ground to at least 1/8-wave of sodium light, but then again, a typical household mirror doesn't come anywhere close to that. Still, the variance should be negligible. Therefore, 'beta' is the correct answer. Dave
