Guest
LAST POST
What would you say; if you had to make your next post, the last post, here at Club Adventist?
Please forgive me for quoting the following; if it would bother you to know that it comes from a rock & roll group...but it speaks to the heart felt prayer I have at this time:
We all have times where we have a deep hunger for God to show us a better way; and this song speaks to the plea of many:
Some of you will probably really wonder about me now; and as I can get a bit “crusty” in some of my replies; but, I thought this post would be a good way to make my last comment of the year:
“Show Me The Way
Every night I say a prayer In the hopes that there’s a heaven Every day I’m more confused As the saints turn into sinners All the heroes and legends I knew as a child Have fall into idols of clay And I feel this empty place inside So afraid…..that I’ve lost my faith Show me the way! Show me the way! Take me tonight to the river And wash my illusions away. Please show me the way! And as I slowly drift asleep For a moment of dreams I sit there I close my eyes and know there’s peace In a world so filled with hatred That I wake up each morning and turn on the news And find that we’ve so far to go And I keep on hoping for a sign Oh! Show me the way! Show me the way!” - Styx
**** I chose to post this part of the song , because it is so real...It speaks to the heart-cry of a world of suffering and pain. If you heard the song you would "see" the sincerity of the people singing it.
But, more than that; when I was a "loser" mainlining speed, and living nine lives at once, I used to listen to this song, and just ball my eyes out...I wanted something better. I can see how God was calling me, and working with me, even in that sordid world I used to live in...I know in my heart, if He can work with me, he can and will work with you or anyone – in the church or not in the church.
God doesn't show favoritism...!
I still cry.
I still want something better.
My heart joins yours, painfully, as we watch "saints turn into sinners..."
I am also encouraged as I see the ways God has led me out of the terrible world I used to live in; and I see His hope, as I consider how to "repair the breaches." (2 Kings 12:5).
I am hoping you won't let me discourage you; if I have been abrupt to you; and that we can forgive and move on with helping the Lord's cause at Club Adventist. The Bible has a very interesting “New Year’s Promise for us all:
Ps.65: 11 “The year is crowned with the good you give; life-giving rain is dropping from your footsteps,” (GNB).
I sincerely wish you God's rich blessings, in His Son whom we celebrate this time of year.
"Commit...trust...and God will work" (Ps.37:5).
Sincerely DavidTBattler
