Amelia
Protestors demonstrate outside Scientology headquarters February 10, 2008 By CRAIG EDWARDS, kgw.com staff PORTLAND, Ore. – Protestors demonstrated in front of the Church of Scientology offices in Portland Sunday afternoon. The demonstrators all wore masks to hide their identities. They’re part of a group known as Anonymous. The Portland event was one of several around the country. According to the protestors, their goal is to get the church’s tax exemption status removed. They claimed the church extorts money from its members, and that it tries to suppress free speech. “Since 1994, they've been trying to shut down web sites with dissenting opinions, pressing lawsuits against individuals" a spokesman for Anonymous told KGW Sunday afternoon. Their main argument centered on a leaked church video, that several websites had posted, then removed. In a statement released Sunday, the church said the video is copyrighted, and it asked website owners to remove the video due to the copyright. It called Anonymous a group of cyber-terrorists. “Anonymous is perpetrating religious hate crimes against Churches of Scientology and individual Scientologists for no reason other than religious bigotry” the church said in the statement.” Quote
"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you." Eph 4:29

Fairview Or
