nuff sed
Of course it doesn't break the Sabbath.good grief...........I always wondered why putting the money in a tithe envelope to pay for a Liberty Subscription made it OK to put in the offering plate on Sabbath. and at Campmeeting...why is it OK to hand over a piece of paper at the cafeteria on Sabbath showing that "value was transferred" before the Sabbath.............. What is a dollar bill other than a symbol of value that is being held somewhere else? I avoid doing on the Sabbath what I could have done during the week, however. and...............if I want to set my TIVO to record Star Trek on Friday night..so be it... Woody
FYI. Don't know if setting the recorder for this breaks the sabbath or what, but Pastor Jeremiah Wright will be on the Bill Moyers show on PBS tonight. DB Personally FOR ME .... I would find listening to either of those characters offensive at ANY time. Sabbath or no Sabbath. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Moderators John317 Posted April 25, 2008 Moderators Share Posted April 25, 2008 Quote: He is very far to the left, even further than he was during the 60s. So in the interview we're not exactly getting any tough questioning of Jeremiah Wright. Gee, people don't grow...People don't change thier minds. People are a constant. Yada yada yada.... So how come people move from being a democrat to republican and vise versa...? How come people temper their opinions as they age??? How come your grandmother's opinions are different now than when she was your age? How come your opinions are different now than 20 years ago? Don'tcha think that 20 to 40 years ago, things were a bit different and political opinions from the same person were viewed abit differently than now? Then how come YOU are not giving anyone that kind of slack? Of course people do change over time. No one is denying that. But it is a fact that some people move further to the left and some move further to the right or maybe into the middle. All I am saying is that it's a fact Bill Moyers has moved further to the left than he was in the 1960s. Where would you say Senator Obama is in the political spectrum in comparison with other members of the U.S. Senate? Very liberal, liberal, moderate, or conservative? Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. Moderators John317 Posted April 25, 2008 Moderators Share Posted April 25, 2008 .....REVEREND WRIGHT:It went down very simply. He's a politician, I'm a pastor. We speak to two different audiences. And he says what he has to say as a politician. I say what I have to say as a pastor. But they're two different worlds. I do what I do. He does what politicians do. So that what happened in Philadelphia where he had to respond to the sound bytes, he responded as a politician. BILL MOYERS: In the 20 years that you've been his pastor, have you ever heard him repeat any of your controversial statements as his opinion? REVEREND WRIGHT: No. No. No. Absolutely not. I don't talk to him about politics. And so he had a political event, he goes out as a politician and says what he has to say as a politician. I continue to be a pastor who speaks to the people of God about the things of God. Wright here says about Obama what Americans had already learned about him. He is not a new, idealistic statesman at all, but merely an ordinary politician, albeit a very liberal one, saying what he has to say to get elected. Kountzer
Whatever. There hasn't been a statesman politician I can think of since Lincoln. With all the rest you had to hold your nose, over look the overly stupid, and accentuate what ever good that was to be noted. Dr. Shane
I haven't decided if I am going to vote for Obama in the fall or not but I do like him. It will be a crying shame if Hillary steals the nomination from him. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Kountzer
I plan to vote for Obama in the fall, assuming he makes it that far. This whole Obama thing came out of nowhere. I wasn't expecting to see a viable black candidate for the president anytime soon, if ever. If he doesn't make it all the way, oh well. Can't lose what you never had.
