Woody
Quote: “Prophecy must be fulfilled. The Lord says: ‘Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.’ Somebody is to come in the spirit and power of Elijah, and when he appears, men may say: ‘You are too earnest, you do not interpret the scriptures in the proper way. Let me tell you how to teach your message.’”—TM pages 475, 476. Has this person come yet? Or ... is this something we can look forward to in our life time perhaps? Members phkrause
Redwood; isn't this something that she's quoting from the Bible? And isn't this looking to the time of Christ? And I believe its John the Baptist that is being portrayed here? as being a type of Elijah? I think I also heard Doug Batchelor mention this in his meetings. pkrause Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
Woody
Quote: Mal. 4:5 " Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." But I don't think it is John the Baptist. I think it is referring to the end time ... our time. But I will let the scolars chime in. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won.
