Today we look at the results of floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc. and wonder why. If good and gracious God Jehovah sits on the throne of the universe, how would you explain why he allows us to have tough hours or really really bad days or weeks? "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."Romans 8:28 NASB Just moments after I read your post, ChildofChrist, a man that had appeared reasonably healthy perhaps 1/2 hour ago, was found not responding in vital signs. We had only a short time ago become slightly acquainted and were fairly certain he had not yet accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Our first desire was to bring this man to the Lord in prayer, claiming the promise below, that His life might be spared until he had chance to make his decision whether to accept Jesus. We have little idea at this time whether this gentleman will survive for more time on this earth, but there is one thing of which we can be certain. God loves him more than any person in this world, and if it will glorify God and advance the kingdom of God on earth, we will see this man one day in the home God has provided for those who love Him. "The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death." But then, it just isn't the saints that find themselves with their home in the river as the world watches it break apart and fall in. When the cyclone levels a city and so few step up to the plate to give assistance. That it isn't a reality check for our world that it's Creator isn't 'fixin' to restore it...?
