John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

John317 Who is Leonard Peltier? I guess I'm out of touch, because I've never heard of him.

By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

Very popular figure for Leftist causes and protests:

From Wikipedia--

Leonard Peltier (born September 12, 1944) is a Native American activist and member of the American Indian Movement. In 1977 he was convicted and sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment for the murder of two FBI Agents who died during a 1975 shoot-out on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. There has been considerable debate over Peltier’s guilt and the fairness of his trial. Some supporters and organizations, including Amnesty International, consider him to be a political prisoner. Amnesty International said, for example, that "Although he has not been adopted as a prisoner of conscience, there is concern about the fairness of the proceedings leading to his conviction and it is believed that political factors may have influenced the way the case was prosecuted." Numerous lawsuits have been filed on his behalf but none has succeeded. Peltier is currently incarcerated at the United States penitentiary in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.

Griff Jenkins, reporter for FoxNews, surrounded by angry crowd of protesters on steps of Colorado capital building, 8-24-08. The melee began when Jenkins showed up to obtain an interview with Ward Churchill, and a pro-demonstration reporter complained that Jenkins had tried to break up his own interview with Churchill. The protesters closed in on Jenkins and began cursing him and telling him to "shut up and get out" of there. Later Jenkins invited the reporter to come on the Bill O'Reilly program. The second picture was taken at the moment that Jenkins was inviting the reporter to come on the Bill O'Reilly Show. The reporter declined with a very plain expletive directed at Bill.

Sounds alot like the case against Ruben Carter. Maybe Dylan should write a song about this. I think that I did hear something about that. Thanks for the info.

Later I will post photographs of a man singing songs at the rally. There were also poetry readings by Native Americans about Peltier's case. A personal friend of Peltier read an open letter which Peltier wrote for the occasion.

I happen to agree with that T shirt. We have laws that are very harsh for the world standards. We have long prison terms for offenses that would get fines in Europe. We are approaching becoming a police state with so many people in prisons. It is estimated that by 2020 1 in 2 americans will be employed as security related jobs. Police, Prison guards, Law Enforcement, Border Patrol, Military, Homeland Security, Airport security, Private Security etc.

For the land of the free we have way to many of our population behind bars for offenses that are not that great. 5 years in prison for having a few ounces of Marijuana on you etc. My brother in law got five years for trumped up charges that if the economy were good would never have been charged. A hospital went bankrupt and he was an oursourcing doctor who got outpatients from that hospital. His mistake is that he hired the hospital CEO as his employee to drum up business for him. Would have been fine if he had paid him a regular salary but he paid him a percent of the business funneled to his practice. He was charged under the Rico Act. Got five years. Feds tried to get him 10 years but my sister proved from financial records his practice MADE money for the hospital and did not lose money which the feds were trying to prove. Judge would only allow 5 years.

My brother in law is out now and his probation was over last May. He can now travel the country but he has an $800,000 fine he can never pay as he will find it almost impossible to practice as a doctor again.

Fred Hampton Jr. being interviewed by unidentified reporter (the same reporter who had an argument with FoxNews' Griff Jenkins).

The following information about Fred Hampton Sr. comes from the wikipedia:

Fred Hampton (August 30, 1948 – December 4, 1969) was an African-American activist and deputy chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party (BPP). He was killed in his apartment by a tactical unit of the Cook County, Illinois State's Attorney's Office (SAO), in conjunction with the Chicago Police Department (CPD) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Hampton's death was chronicled in the 1971 documentary film The Murder of Fred Hampton.

Ward Churchill and bodyguard, during speech at rally, 8/24/08

The following is reported by wikipedia:

Ward Churchill

Occupation Political activist

Ward LeRoy Churchill (born October 2, 1947) is an American writer and political activist. He was a professor of ethnic studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 1990 to 2007. Primarily, his work focuses on the historical treatment of political dissenters and American Indians by the United States. His work features controversial and provocative claims, written in a direct, often confrontational style.

In January 2005, Churchill's work attracted publicity, with the widespread circulation of a 2001 essay, On the Justice of Roosting Chickens. In it, he claimed that people killed in the World Trade Center attacks were involved in provoking the attack. In March 2005 the University of Colorado began investigating allegations that Churchill had engaged in research misconduct; it reported in June 2006 that he had done so. Churchill was fired on July 24, 2007 for research misconduct.

It's hard for me to understand why an American would say such a thing. I doubt he would say it if he had a family member he loved in those buildings.

You're very welcome. I'm glad you like them.

I wish I could go to the RNC in St. Paul, but I'm afraid I won't be able to. I have a feeling that there will be more protesters at the RNC than were at Denver. But given the mood of the country, not too many people feel it's necessary to hit the streets like they did in the 1960s and 70s. So I'll be surprised if as many as 4,000 turn out for the protests in Minn.

And the Pentagon provoked their attack. And the field somehow provoked it's attack!

So why don't these guys have the names of our soldiers on their signs? Or is this some kind of anti-establishment thing I'm not getting?
