Moderators John317 Posted September 16, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2008 IAEA info suggests Iran worked on nuclear missile 1 hour, 6 minutes ago VIENNA, Austria - The U.N. nuclear agency has presented intelligence allegedly showing plans to redesign an Iranian missile to accommodate a nuclear payload. The International Atomic Energy Agency shared the intelligence with 35 nations on Tuesday, but the Iranian representative to the organization says the information was fabricated. Gregory L. Schulte, the chief U.S. representative to the IAEA, said the evidence shows Iran has a weapons program. The two spoke separately to reporters after the presentation by the IAEA, one day after the U.N. nuclear watchdog issued a report saying that Iran has stonewalled its attempts to probe allegations that it drew up plans and conducted experiments for a nuclear arms program. Dr. Shane
This is just more lies from Bush, Chenney and Rove to start a new war with Iran. They can't be happy with the troops coming home from Iraq so they have to go off and start a new war with Iran. I bet it happens in October too just to give McCain an advantage. Mark my words, BUSH WILL START A NUCLEAR WAR TO GET McCAIN ELECTED!!! The Republicans are so desperate they will don anything to win. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Moderators John317 Posted September 16, 2008 Author Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2008 You know, I think you are absolutely right. It would be just like those two rascals, wouldn't it? Everybody on God's green earth knows that all Bush and Cheney care about is war and more war. They enjoy it and now want to begin WW3. Moderators Bravus Posted September 16, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2008 I'm gonna hate myself for getting back into these debates at all, but it's nearly 5 am and I can't sleep and this is a particular issue close to my heart. I realised the operative words in that report may well be the past tense 'worked'... and what do you know, I was right: "The presentation relied on photos and documents pertaining to what U.S. intelligence says were Iranian efforts to work on nuclear weapons program up to 2003. After that year, according to a U.S. intelligence estimate, Iran apparently stopped such activity." From here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080916/ap_on_re_eu/eu_iran_nuclear_5 So it's ancient news, already known and irrelevant to the current situation. This is concerning to me. It is serious stuff to have Iran doing this. And even more important are the lies and deceit of this country and their leader. The world is not a safe place with them in control of such weapons. The World must prevent and/or stop it. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Woody
Thanks for that post, Bravus. For sure we need to take all information on the subject into consideration. Yes. I agree John. Bush doesn't want McCain to get elected. He wants to start a nuclear war so HE can set aside the Constitution, declare martial law, and continue to be president of his empire. carolaa
This is just more lies from Bush, Chenney and Rove to start a new war with Iran. jasd
Now, now, carolaa, Shane was simply attempting a routine schtick no need to go vitriolic... :-o on our exemplary Statesmen/Operatives; besides, we're already under martial law - de jure. Anyway, it was not for nothin' that Dubya was initiated into the Skull and Bones Society, that Cheney was CEO of one of the world's largest conglomerates, or that the left is so visceral where it concerns Rove. Simply, they excel at what they do. If not geniuses, then durn close. Uh-oh, do I misspeak?

Moderators Bravus Posted September 16, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2008 I really hope I've misunderstood you, Redwood. Are you saying that you plan to put the truth in the 'circular file' because it doesn't fit your preconceptions? There is excellent, verified intelligence to show that Iraq does not currently have *any* active nuclear weapons or nuclear weapons delivery program. Moderators John317 Posted September 16, 2008 Author Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2008 What's more important is what Israeli intelligence believes about Iran. Do you know what the Israeli government and its intelligence believes? Are they as convinced as you are about that issue? Woody
Just sayin we have to look at ALL information and try to determine truth. Your truth may not be my truth. Reports are simply reports. And the US does not have a particularly good track record on reports. Iran is currently threatening death to Israel. I think I can trust their words over 'reports'. Moderators Bravus Posted September 16, 2008 Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2008 Guess I hadn't misunderstood, then. Astonishing: you're going to use the fact that bad intel got you into one war as a reason to ignore good intel in order to get into another war. Words fail me... and I go back into hibernation. Woody
Quote: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Friday to keep supporting the Palestinian militant group Hamas until the "collapse of Israel." jasd
'War games' models may more likely indicate, rather than a direct involvement by us, an India and Pakistan tussle - providing the excuse for the West to make a Delta Force-like strike to rid Pakistan of her nukes. That would probably have to occur before Pakistan signed an agreement of sorts with such as Russia or China - at which time, so much stealth would be required as to make a strike into Pakistan by the West - prohibitive. :-o

Words fail me... and I go back into hibernation. I know what you mean, Bravus. I don't know if we're stupid or gullible as a nation. The reason the Bush administration gets away with their lies and fear mongering is because enough people believe them (over and over and over). This is how Republican politics has worked for the last 20+ years. Scott McClellan claims Bush never got out of politics mode, so it all makes sense. Only it doesn't.....
