Say Jr., 90, of Heath, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 701 Linville Road, Heath, with Pastor Tom Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery with the Licking County Veterans Alliance providing military honors. Chester was born July 18, 1918, in Columbus to the late Chester E. Say Jr. and Florence Say. He passed away Sept. 14, 2008, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving with the 27th Infantry Division in the South Pacific. Chester was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, a founding member of the Heath Volunteer Fire Department, charter member of the Heath Lions Club, life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of Newark, charter member of the Heath American Legion, member of Heath Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite -- Valley of Columbus, and Shrine, Aladdin Temple of Columbus. He is survived by his children, Chester Say III, of Heath, David (Chari) Hamby, of Newark, and Margaret (Rick) Taylor, of Heath; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary (Livengood) Say; daughter, Sandra Shock; grandson, John Paul Shock; and sister, Betty Redman. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark.
