Dr. Shane
I saw an interview of Hillary Clinton supporter, Miguel D. Lausell, said that women on Obama's Senate staff make an average of $9,000 less/year than men and women on McCain's Senate staff make an average of $2,000 less/year. Is that true? I think it damaging to Obama if it is. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Find me at www.PostumCafe.com Author of Peculiar Christianity
Woody
This clearly shows that McCain values women nearly five times more than Obama. My vote is for McCain. Dr. Shane
Yes, It could mean that Obama only hires guys for all the high paying jobs and McCain only hires women for high paying jobs. The source of the information tells us something. He was a Hillary Clinton supporter. Thus he doesn't have a Republican bias and is a supporter of women's rights. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... And that they are willing to take the pay cut to further his goals of getting elected. IDK Quote Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve. Dr. Shane
The worst case scenario is that Obama is not paying women as much as he is paying men for doing the same job. If we believe that we are assuming the worst. The other possibility is that he has given all the high paying jobs to men. That isn't a lot better but certainly not as damaging. Neil D
It can also mean that these women came UP from lower paying jobs and that Obama is paying an average mean pay....It is McCain that is OVERPAYING his women to do the same jobs.... Dr. Shane
It could be that the women came up from lower paying jobs and Obama is taking advantage of them. That is true. Or... McCain could be overpaying his women (but not his men). That seems unlikely. Giving the benefit of the doubt to Obama, I think one would simply assume that men hold the highest paid positions. That would mean he is not underpaying any women. He simply isn't hiring them for the highest paid positions. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Administrators Tom Wetmore Posted September 27, 2008 Administrators Share Posted September 27, 2008 While I would like to claim this as on original thought, I can't take credit for this one! Google it and you will see it is becoming a common tag comming out of the left-wing blogosphere. There is even a Caribou Barbie website that is just started up.
