Woody
It's not nice to make fun of Joe the Plumber. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
fccool
I think calling him Joe the Plummer is kind of insulting. I would not want to be reduced to my occupation. Especially if his name is not Joe, and he is not a plummer.
Woody
He's dreamin of being a plumber. Thus the title is a compliment. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.
Moderators Jeannieb43 Posted November 2, 2008 Author Moderators Share Posted November 2, 2008 I found another several additions to this game. [McCain apologizes to America; more goodies going through the shredder.] But Joe the Plumber's truck doesn't seem to show up any more. Dr. Shane
I think calling him Joe the Plummer is kind of insulting. I would not want to be reduced to my occupation. Especially if his name is not Joe, and he is not a plummer. It is the man that brings honor to his job, not the job to the man. His name is Joe and he is a plumber. Thus: Joe the Plumber. fccool
What I'm saying is that there's more to me then my occupation. Many people don't like what they do, but do it to make a living. For many is not a matter of choice. So, what they do for living is not an accurate description of them. It's not about honor in this case, but demagogy. It's like Bush saying 4 years ago that it's "uniquely American" to have 3 jobs to get by, like it's a norm.
