Joe Wurzelbacher

Yes, Joe the Plumber.

And Yes, Joe Lieberman said today that between Joe Wurzelbacher AKA Joe the plumber ... and the last debate that McCain won ... the tide is turning and the McPalin team will win.

Praise God for Joe the plumber/Wurzelbacher!!

May we be one so that the world may be won.

I don't think you can find many on the web or TV that say that McCain won the debate last nigt regardless of how "right" he might have been. He was often quite angry. Personally, I didn't see the whole debate as I had a previous engagement last night to attend to. I think that their report card for last night was very close. I have heard that Obama got an A minus and McCain a B plus which is essentially nearly the same grade.

Which Joe might that be?

Okay. If it is Wurzelbacher that you are talkin about ... yeah - I've heard the radical left saying he ain't a plumber. But those radicals will spin anything.

The only thing that matters ... is that the McPalin team has him on our side now. He is no longer on the Obama team. And it has caused the tide to turn or at least 'flow' in a different direction.

I think that McCain intends to make him Secretary of the Interior ... as in the interior of the house. Or perhaps the Department of "transportation" might be good.

O hear he is a plumber but not a liscenced plumber. He works under a liscenced plumber. That still makes him a plumber by trade even if not by "professional title".

Yes Taylor.

And the point was ... he had the ambition to own his own plumbing company. And he was concerned about the taxes that Obama would impose on him with his 'distribute the wealth' philosophy.

In order for Joe to buy his boss' business he would have to take his journeyman test, work as a journeyman for five years and then take his master's test. He sounds like a conservative that took advantage of an opportunity of a lifetime. If things turn around for McCain, it will have a lot to do with Joe.

Just saw an interview with him on TV. It's clear he is a long term Republican, all of whose values line up with those of the right wing of the Republican party, so I'm not sure where this 'changing teams' notion comes from. Plus he's not a plumber and his name is not Joe.

And in addition the Republican symbol falls completely apart on closer scrutiny, just like the whole McCain economic/tax policy idea. As it turns out the myth of Joe the Plummer is an absolutely perfect symbol of the delusional out of touch McCain campaign.

Joe the Plummer actually only makes $40,000/year; he has no real plan or strategy to buy his boss' business; the business is only making around $100,000/year; Joe has a tax lien against him for not paying his taxes in Ohio.

Plumming the Depths of Joe the Joke

Joe would actually be better off under Obama's tax plan.

Poppycock With the emphasis on the first part.

If you listened to him ... you would know that he has dreams. And that is what American was built on. Then the Democrats came.

I haven't seen any claims of changing teams. There has been talk of this being a game changer. He is a plumber, just not licensed. His middle name is Joe which is what he goes by.

Joe the Plummer actually only makes $40,000/year; he has no real plan or strategy to buy his boss' business; the business is only making around $100,000/year; Joe has a tax lien against him for not paying his taxes in Ohio.

This misses the point. Joe wants to buy his bosses business - or start one of his own. That may not happen for five or six years but dreams are dreams. Joe hopes that when he does have his own plumbing business it will make more than $250K/year. That is not an unreasonable expectation.

Furthermore, Joe has doubts that Obama's plan will ever become reality. So while in theory he would do better under the Obama plan, it could be more like the middle-class tax cut that Clinton promised but never followed through on. In fact, Clinton raised taxes on the middle class after promising to cut their taxes.

MCCAIN DEFENDS THE PLUMBER

REMARKS IN MIAMI, FL

Fri Oct 17 2008 13:45:02 ET

It's great to be here in Miami. Florida is a must-win state on November 4th, and with your help, we're going to win Florida, and bring change to Washington, DC. We had a good debate this week. You may have noticed-- there was a lot of talk about Senator Obama's tax increases and Joe the Plumber. Last weekend, Senator Obama showed up in Joe's driveway to ask for his vote, and Joe asked Senator Obama a tough question. I'm glad he did; I think Senator Obama could use a few more tough questions.

The response from Senator Obama and his campaign yesterday was to attack Joe. People are digging through his personal life and he has TV crews camped out in front of his house. He didn't ask for Senator Obama to come to his house. He wasn't recruited or prompted by our campaign. He just asked a question. And Americans ought to be able to ask Senator Obama tough questions without being smeared and targeted with political attacks.

The question Joe asked about our economy is important, because Senator Obama's plan would raise taxes on small businesses that employ 16 million Americans. Senator Obama's plan will kill those jobs at just the time when we need to be creating more jobs. My plan will create jobs, and that's what America needs.

Senator Obama says that he wanted to spread your wealth around. When politicians talk about taking your money and spreading it around, you'd better hold onto your wallet. Senator Obama claims that wants to give a tax break to the middle class, but not only did he vote for higher taxes on the middle class in the Senate, his plan gives away your tax dollars to those who don't pay taxes.

That's not a tax cut, that's welfare. America didn't become the greatest nation on earth by redistributing wealth; we became the greatest nation by creating new wealth.

This is the choice that we face. These are hard times. Our economy is in crisis. Americans are fighting in two wars. We face many enemies in this dangerous world, and many challenges here at home.

The Latest from Fox News is that there is a campaign to have Joe the Plumber to run for Congress if McCain doesn't win ... because I suspect that they are sure Joe would make it to the cabinet if McCain would be elected.

Talking about tough questions... Can someone ask McCain where is he going to get the money to buy the failing mortgages to prop up the housing market? I'd like to know his alternative on raising taxes?

I understand the republican aversion to socialism, but frankly USA is way beyond the socialism threshold. USA IS a socialist country today, and it is very easily demonstrated.

1) 12% of people's earnings go to social security

2) The central Bank regulates the economy

3) Heavy taxation are levied to run the oversized nanny state governments, which is not enough so the government goes into deficit on behalf of people to avoid the heavier taxation.

4) Property taxes are inherently a socialism concept, as though you have to pay everyone else for the right to own property.

So wake up and sing :), if you think that McCain is somehow below socialism. Even the recent bailout of the housing market that the "republican" McCain is proposing is in its heart pure socialism.

Just consider how high would the taxes be if the debt was not an option. Yet debt was a political tool to promise social programs that were unfordable.

Capitalism requires capital at its heart that has to come from real savings, not future derivatives. And why do we need to prop up a failing and dysfunctional financial system (aka Wall Street) is well beyond me.

I agree that small businesses are at heart of any economy, but let's be honest. Small businesses are not the ones that would benefit if either of the candidates get the office.

Looking statistically at the recent tax cut... the 80% of it went to the 1% of receivers. So people who do not need it, got the most of it.
