Moderators John317 Posted October 31, 2008 Moderators Share Posted October 31, 2008 --The Story of Our Health Message, The Origin, Character, and Development of Health Education in the 7th-day Adventist Church, by Dores Eugene Robinson, Southern Publishing Association, Nashville, TN, 1943. It's been a while since I read it, but I believe it covers the Adventist health message from the time when Ellen White received her first health vision in 1864 until the founding of our major health centers such as Paradise Sanitarium in National City and Loma Linda Hospital. The book was published in 1943 and therefore it gives some views of Ellen White that are out of date. For instance, it doesn't discuss the fact that much of what Ellen White said was in harmony with contemporary views on health reform. If the book was written today, it would show that Ellen White was led by God through her visions to differentiate between the true and the false and to apply genuine health reform to the preparation of God's people for Christ's return. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
