Dr. Shane
Obama has won Ohio. I am waiting for them to call Florida. Can we say racism is dead in America? Is there anything a black man cannot do? Of course there are still racists. No doubt about that. But those racists do not have enough influence to stop a racial minority of achieving whatever they set their mind to. I think this is one of the greatest days in American history right next to when President Lincoln gave the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... aldona
I'm finding it hard to get any work done today(my computer is one of the few in the office which has broadband, so I keep checking CNN between patients, and the rest of the staff are using me as the official "election monitor.") I certainly agree with Shane. But I'm surprised that about 80-90% of people I've spoken to (friends, co-workers, people at church, patients) all say exactly the same thing: "I hope Obama wins. But I'm worried that if he does win, he'll be assassinated." Please prove us all wrong! (about the assassination bit, that is, not the bit about Obama becoming president!) aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music? Dr. Shane
Every President has people trying to kill him. Obama will be no different. The Secret Service does a pretty good job of keeping the President safe. I will be very surprised if Obama is assassinated. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Amelia
From what I understand, two attempts on obama - well sorta attempts, were already twarted. Dr. Shane
There were two attempts to assassinate President Clinton and two to assassinate President G.W. Bush. Two attempts on Nixon, two on Ford, one on Carter, one on Reagan and one on G.W.H. Bush. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Woody
Quote: Can we say racism is dead in America? Clearly Shane ... the answer is NO. I can't tell you how many people I have heard interviewed on TV tonight that said they voted for Obama ... primarily based on race. This is a serious problem we face in America. I doubt that it will go away soon. Did ANY blacks for for McCain? Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology. Dr. Shane
I gloated a lot when Bush beat Kerry. That was a sweet victory. But I am going to hold off gloating now until I have my middle-class tax cut and universal health care. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Dr. Shane
If Obama fails to pass universal health care he will indeed be a failure. Universal health care has been part of the Democrat party platform since 1948. He is going to have a super majority in both the House and Senate. If he fails there will be no excuse - just poor leadership. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Moderators Nan Posted November 5, 2008 Moderators Share Posted November 5, 2008 I guess from an outsiders view point, I would hope to an end to warmongering, the fear Bush would try to go into Iran was certainly there.
Dr. Shane
Obama has been talking about invading Pakistan which is a nuclear powered ally of the US. aldona
I guess from an outsiders view point, I would hope to an end to warmongering, the fear Bush would try to gointo Iran was certainly there. To get some idea of how some of us outsiders view it: "The Age" (Melbourne daily newspaper) is running an online poll today entitled "Who would you vote for?". I just checked and the latest figure is Obama 93%, McCain 7%. That's pretty similar to the mix of people I have spoken to in the past few days. aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music?
