Happily Married Mom

Dennis Miller claims that women are jealous of Sarah Palin because she is a happily married mom. She has a husband that loves her, supports her, helps her with the children and housework. She has children that love her. She and her husband handled her teenage daughter's pregnancy in a loving and compassionate manner. Sarah has the family life that every woman would ever want.

Then one looks at her professional life. She was a partner with her husband in commercial fishing. Then she worked her way up the political ladder from city council member to mayor to governor and VP candidate.

Is it jealousy or just about abortion? Are women's rights organizations set up to support opportunities for women or just protect the right to have abortion? The opposition Palin received from several women's organizations actually brings up more questions about the modern women's rights movement than it does about Palin. One must bear in mind that Susan B. Anthony, a woman's rights pioneer whose face was placed on the silver dollar, was opposed to abortion too. If Susan B. Anthony were alive today, would she be treated like Sarah Palin.
