Cosmin M. Posted February 14, 2009 Share Posted February 14, 2009 Mr. James Asa Brock, age 75, of Gainesville died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta. Mr. Brock was born in Hall County on Jan. 15, 1934, to the late Mildred and Roscoe Brock. He was a veteran, having served in the Navy during the Korean War, he was a lifelong member of Dunagans Chapel U.M.C., he was a good gardener who loved to grow a variety of Vegetables and would lovingly share them with many friends and relatives in the community. James was loved by all who knew him. His presence in the lives of his family and friends will be greatly missed. Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at the Dunagans Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Brock will lie in state at the church Sunday from 2:30 p.m. till the funeral hour. The Rev. John Fede will officiate and the interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Dunagans Chapel United Methodist Church, 5540 Timber Ridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30507. Surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald Brock and Mattie of Snellville, Johnny Brock and Evelyn of Gillsville, Randall Brock and Joan and Daniel Brock and Gelaine; brother, Jackie Brock, all of Gainesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn Brock Rutland and George of Tullahoma, Tenn., and Karen Brock Griffin and Dwight of Lula; and sisters, Lauren Brock Bracewell of Flowery Branch, Jane Brock and Sheree Brock, both of Gainesville.
