Liz
Some of you know that one of my uncles (in real life) is dying of cancer. He has never been a "religious" type of person and has never gone to church, except for weddings and funerals. So my mom (his sister) was talking to him the other day and at the end of the conversation he asks her to pray for him. This weighed heavily on my mom's heart, and she wondered if maybe he would be open to listening about the love of Jesus. So the next day she called him up and carefully broached the subject. He desperately wanted to hear everything she had to say, at the end of the conversation he asked Jesus to forgive him of all his sins and asked Jesus to come into his heart--my mom led him in prayer. We are still bummed because he is dying, we are feeling sorry for ourselves because we won't have him around, but now we all have hope that we will see him again. Mom said she is sad and happy at the same time, but she is more happy than sad right now. How wonderful is that???? Members phkrause
Amen, Praise the Lord. pk Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
Administrators Gail Posted April 12, 2009 Administrators Share Posted April 12, 2009 I just read this now... How comforting this must have been to your heart, knowing this when he finally breathed his last. Praise God! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

I did the same for my mother-in-law on her death-bed from cancer. She confessed Jesus on her death-bed before she breathed her last. She was never known for being religious either.
