I agree Pam. That looks like a tacky art/shop class project.

”Moses Made…

a Copy of What…?”

- How can we ever know which one is the original Ark of the Covenant if we have no idea re what the heavenly original is all about?

Hebrews 8 tells us that Moses made a copy of what he saw in heaven.

in Christ,

Bob

Re Moses

The name ‘Moses’ has something to do with ‘drawing out’ (Strong’s #H4872) or ‘pulling out’ (H4872) or even ‘forget…, remit, remove (H5382, cf. H4874 & H5381.) The Savior, God [through His firstborn Sons and Daughters; cf. Obadiah v.21] is pulling His People out of the mire, out of sin, out of the points we are missing.

Re our need

What are some of the foremost things we are missing out on today? What is the Ark of the Covenant a copy of? What Covenant(s) is/are made in heaven? What’s the purpose of the tabernacle and of all the things within?

Re the Oneness of God

The number ‘one’ in Hebrew is one and the same as the first letter of the alphabet. The letter ‘aleph.’ Among other things the word ‘aleph’ represents, not only the name YHWH, but it also stands for ‘family’ (H504.)

Re the purpose of Man

The very purpose of God’s creating Man is found in Genesis 1:26. The purpose is the creation of an image of God [themselves; the two in one; the divine, the di-vine, the di-une, the duo-uno, the two in one.] The two being united into one by means of covenanting. As in ‘the Ark of the Covenant’ and as in ‘the Throne of God.’

Re the nature of the image – and of the Tabernacle…

Genesis 1:27 further identifies the nature of the divine in terms of “male and female created He them.” The foundation of every true family is one male and one female. Nothing else will result in another living being, a son or a daughter. Nothing! Not two males. Not two females. Not any combination of three or more.

There are no exceptions. The di-vine One, the designer and Creator of all is the original. The image of the original is exactly that, an image. It is not the original even while the original is very much built into the very nature and structure of the image.

The One divine image is thus the foundation of every family, it also, like the original, being two in One.

Re the Bride of Christ – and re the Ark of the Covenant

Yet, at the same time this divine image, this family of God, is the one building block out of which the temple of God, God’s People, the beloved wife of God, is being built. There is none other in heaven given or taught in the Word of God. As single men or women we are sons or daughters and as such we are one with each our parental family - albeit not its foundational two. Early on it may appear as though we are one with our mother, that is, ‘unborn children.’ Even so, each of us have our ultimate origin within our father, the male from whom we are the offspring. Yet, none of us would exist without the addition of the female counterpart. Without the male and the female both, we are not, and cannot exist. Without both parents we are not complete beings. Without both parents we are no more whole than each half of a child being cut into two by the sword of king Solomon, the wisest judge known among men (cf. 1 Kings 3:24-25,) are we? (You may read more re this at this link to another post of mine in this forum!

Thus the covenant being represented by the Ark of the Covenant is truly that covenant being made in heaven that forms the basis for every man and every woman, for every boy and girl ever born.

What’s the point we are missing out on?

Is it strange that Satan is doing his utmost to obfuscate, to hide, and to misconstrue everything God is teaching us regarding the importance and sanctity of the family unit? To make us forget that the tabernacle with all its pieces was made for all of us as an object lesson and a symbol intended to teach us the importance of, and many particulars re, the family? To make each of us realize that the very last thing any of us would ever wish to destroy is that most intimate image God has given to each of us first through each our two parents, and second through each our own opportunity of being one party out of two constituting that most Divine image of the One that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters?

Is the Ethiopian Ark of the Covenant the original one or not?

So, how can we know whether or not the Ark of the Covenant in Ethiopia is a copy of the original Ark of the Covenant that was built by Moses or not? Wouldn’t we first need to know and understand more about what the heavenly original is and what it looks like? If our interest in learning the lessons intended to be taught by the Tabernacle is so superficial that it has not even brought us to the realization of what the nature of the heavenly original is all about, why would God ever bring out of hiding an object that is more likely to rekindle relic worship than that for which it was originally created, i.e. an object lesson for teaching us important details re the nature of each family of God and re each our family – the only really intimate image of God that any one among us can ever experience firsthand?

Why would God wish to give us more strength towards idolatry and relic worship, when instead He could spur our interest in the heavenly original by kindling our curiosity re what may constitute the difference between an original copy made by Moses and a tertiary copy that certainly is not likely to be more true to the original in heaven than the copy made under Moses’ directions?

Shabbat Shalom,

Tree of Life ©

PS. What does a more correct understanding of historical dates, for instance the fall of Babylon on midsummer day 534 BCE (not October 13, 539 BCE,) do towards an improved understanding of the prophesies given us through the prophet Daniel and re an improved understanding of the purpose of the Ark of the Covenant? Cf. this link!

Well, I haven't heard anything about this since the first news. No revelation. No Ark.

Thanks dgrimm60. As I posted earlier, I was going to go with him to dive the red sea (I was a scuba instructor) as one time, but he could not answer many of my questions which caused me to wonder about him. There were many things he said that just were not the truth--as you just now confirmed.

Ron Wyatt did not leave the church before he died. He did have some issues with "the brethren"... I understand that there were problems between Ron and his second in command, Richard Rives, who belonged to the World-wide Church of God and kept trying to get Ron to give up Adventism. You might address a question concerning this to www.anchorstone.com.

Quote:
These tables of stone will be brought forth from their hiding place, and on them will be seen the ten commandments engraved by the finger of God. These tables of stone now lying in the ark of the testament will be a convincing testimony to the truth and binding claims of God's law.” Manuscript Releases Volume 20 [Nos. 1420-1500] page 221.

The enemy often introduces a substitute before the 'real' becomes known. So to me, if this quote means the literal ten commandments are now hidden, and will be found and then displayed for all to see, then this report; http://weeklyworldnews.com/headlines/9322/ark-of-the-covenant-revealed/ might be the enemy's counterfeit!

A point of care, Servant.

A substitute is not always a counterfeit.

Satan tried several times in history to make a substitute to the virgin birth, but could only use the avenue of temple prostitution to achieve it. He could not counterfeit the virgin birth - that took an act of creation, which only God could do.

"The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J. Hey Kevin, this is not to disagree, but just a comment. :). Have you ever read the book by Jonathan Gray, who is a big time Archaeologist, about the Ark of the Covenant? I thought that it was very interesting. Jonathan like Horn disliked Wyatt, but unlike Horn Gray checked Wyatt's claim out.

By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

Given that every other option is nothing more than guesswork - I am thinking that this inspired source is a better basis for a conclusion.

Quote:

The Egyptians endeavored to come to the rescue of the beleaguered city; and the Chaldeans, in order to keep them back, abandoned for a time their siege of the Judean capital. Hope sprang up in the heart of Zedekiah, and he sent a messenger to Jeremiah, asking him to pray to God in behalf of the Hebrew nation. {PK 452.2}

The prophet's fearful answer was that the Chaldeans would return and destroy the city. The fiat had gone forth; no longer could the impenitent nation avert the divine judgments. "Deceive not yourselves," the Lord warned His people. "The Chaldeans . . . shall not depart. For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire." Jeremiah 37:9, 10. The remnant of Judah were to go into captivity, to learn through adversity the lessons they had refused to learn under circumstances more favorable. From this decree of the holy Watcher there could be no appeal. {PK 453.1}

Among the righteous still in Jerusalem, to whom had been made plain the divine purpose, were some who determined to place beyond the reach of ruthless hands the sacred ark containing the tables of stone on which had been traced the precepts of the Decalogue. This they did. With mourning and sadness they secreted the ark in a cave, where it was to be hidden from the people of Israel and Judah because of their sins, and was to be no more restored to them. That sacred ark is yet hidden. It has never been disturbed since it was secreted. {PK 453.2}

The idea being that if the ark was not removed until the times of Jeremiah - then the Ethiopians certainly do not have an original - if they have anything at all.

in Christ,

Bob

OK, John 317, you are allowed to have your own belief--if you want I guess. I knew Ron Wyatt and was going to dive the red sea with him at one time until he said I was asking too many questions. I will leave it at that.

I never said I believe Ron Wyatt. I said I believe Ellen White.

I think you're right-- they don't have the original, if they've got anything.

Even if they find it...so what?

If it can be proved to be the actual ark of the covenant, it would definitely be important, because it might prove that the narrative of the Exodus and the events at Sinai in the books of Moses is based on something that really did happen. And it would be very interesting to see whether the Ten Commandments are the way they are in the Bible.

When the original is shown,-- if it ever is-- will it have the fourth commandment as given in Ex. 20 or as it reads in Deut. 5?

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

You're right: that definitely is not the real thing.

I can't see that it matters as to whether it is found or not. Would it make any difference to any of you on this forum if it were found? Do you need that kind of proof for you to know any more about who Jesus Christ is and what He came to this earth to do?

Anyone who does not have the strength of the character of Jesus Christ in them will not believe ANY proof that you show them anyway (John 18:37). There is always a reason not to believe the truth, even if it is presented as a physical fact right before their eyes. The greatest reason for not believing the truth is faith; it takes a good deal more faith to not believe that God exists than it does to believe that He does exist.

If the Ark of the Covenant shows up here on earth before the end it will not change a single persons mind that has not previously done so because of the evidence they have been shown from Scripture by those that know and understand the truth. This would be similar to the miracles that Jesus Christ presented for consideration during His ministry. Not many if anyone was spiritually changed because of a physical manifestation. (The Centurion already KNEW what Jesus could do, he didn't need a miracle). Jesus did them primarily to help individuals, the masses just wanted a good show, e.g. feeding the multitudes. Did the miracles that Jesus performed change the Sanhedrin? No, they still wanted to kill Him for what He was doing.

And don't worry if it doesn't make an appearance on earth; at the 7th trumpet the Ark of the Covenant will be seen in Heaven by everyone still left alive as proof as to what the judgment of God is based upon. Rev.11:19.

HEY ALL

DID NOT ELLEN WHITE say that the Ark of the Covenant

would be found just before JESUS RETURN????

or was that NOAH'S ARK????

dgrimm60

She says nothing about finding Noah's Ark.

She simply says that the Law of God is to be "brought forth" to testify against sin.

--How many have read carefully Patriarchs and Prophets, The Great Controversy, and The Desire of Ages? I wish all to understand that my confidence in the light that God has given stands firm, because I know that the Holy Spirit's power magnified the truth, and made it honorable, saying: "This is the way, walk ye in it." In my books, the truth is stated, barricaded by a "Thus saith the Lord." The Holy Spirit traced these truths upon my heart and mind as indelibly as the law was traced by the finger of God, upon the tables of stone, which are now in the ark, to be brought forth in that great day when sentence will be pronounced against every evil, seducing science produced by the father of lies.--Letter 90, 1906; Colporteur Ministry (1953), page 126, paragraph 2; Chapter Title: Our Large Message Books

She is not necessarily saying here that the same tables of stone that are in the ark will be brought forth but that the law of God will be brought forth in the judgment. This is apparently speaking of the Great White Throne Judgment.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Cynical in what way? That there never was an ark?

I will be very surprised if the Ethiopians have the Ark of the Covenant, but I have no doubt the events described in Exodus actually happened.

There are a lot of people who would be influenced to study the Bible more seriously if the Ark of the Covenant was found and proved to be the actual Ark spoken of in Exodus. I don't know if it will happen, but if it did happen, I can't imagine how anyone would say it is a non-event or that it is insignificant.

During the last 200 years there have been many artifacts and ancient manuscripts of the Bible found--for instance, the Dead Sea Scrolls-- and these have certainly caused some people to take a closer and more serious look at the Bible.

It's interesting that archeology began to verify the Bible about the same time that evolution and higher criticism started destroying faith in the Bible and in God.

I have quite a few loved ones who are not believers; some of these don't believe in creation either. I for one, would love for 'new' evidence to be discovered; it might influence my loved ones - and others, to take a closer look at the Bible and/or SDA teachings.
