Amelia
The ACNielsen people have reported that on average, our children see up to 20,000 commercials per year, depending on their viewing habits. The majority of those commercials are for products/foods that are NOT healthy for them. So if you wonder how your young child/grandchild knows what golden arches mean, turn off the tube and get out the coloring books. http://www.keepingkidshealthy.org/ Quote <p><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="font-weight:bold;"><span style="font-style:italic;">"Do not use harmful words, but only helpful words, the kind that build up and provide what is needed, so that what you say will do good to those who hear you."</span></span> Eph 4:29</span><br><br><img src="http://banners.wunderground.com/weathersticker/gizmotimetemp_both/US/OR/Fairview.gif" alt="Fairview.gif"> Fairview Or</p>
carolaa
Recently, I said something about the "golden arches," and my 14yo - who watches his share of TV - had no idea what I was talking about. I guess people don't use that term much any more.
Woody
Those arches aren't as golden as they used to be. Quote May we be one so that the world may be won. Christian from the cradle to the grave I believe in Hematology.

Amelia
I'll stick my assumptions out there and say that Adventist kids watch less TV and less secular TV than non Adventist kids. Yes/No ? Yes/No ? If you're talking about on average, probably so. But there are a lot who watch just as much as the average non-Christian kid. olger
The less TV, the better. We threw ours out 26-years ago. The downside was we actually had to TALK to each other. And play ball. And read. Members phkrause
I played ball anyway. I had some relatives that didn't allow there kids to watch any TV, so when they came to our house we had to pry them away from the tube. So you never know. I think you need to control what, when, how, etc. that the blasted thing is used. Just a thought. pk Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
