Wrong, wrong, and wrong again. You apparently haven't a clue about either socialism or capitalism.

Taxation is a necessary evil, as government is. Taxes can be used for socialist purposes or not.

Public roads are not socialist.

Taking money from me because I have more and giving it to another just because they have less is a form of socialism. Actually, it's just legal theft.

Taking money from all to pay for road construction and maintenance which all may benefit from may or may not be unwise, but to call it socialism is an evidence of either ideological blindness or total ignorance.

Dictionary definition of socialism:

1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.

3. (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

None of this is compatible with biblical Christianity. The Bible says we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Any time we share ownership of land, business, etc., with non-Christians, as in definition #1, we are giving part of our stewardship into their hands, making it difficult or impossible to use/operate that land/business fully in accordance with Christian principles.

Let me tell you what it would be like without government...even the worst of government: Each man to his own and then YOU die! It's called anarchy!

What's evil is selfishness....That's the basis of all sin....Working to fill you wallet up with the green stuff might be considered responsible, but in heaven's eyes it's iniquity. Every man is out for himself (including me)....and that's why we need Christ....We are a bunch of sinners....Hence, there's none righteous...none are without selfishness....

Taxation does not help the masses. In fact, it often harms them. Your remark 'It's social' is totally vacuous. Politeness is social.

Not everything that helps society at large is socialism.

Insurance is neither socialism, nor does it benefit society at large.

Insurance is a voluntary pooling of risk, which involves neither government nor a redistribution of wealth.

That's taxation....It pays for welfare...medical care...roads, etc. It pays for protection...education....All this is a form of socialism.

Politics, economics, whatever you call it, it doesn't belong in Townhall. I think Obama/Rush Limbaugh slurs are rather political; even if they're technically off topic, most political issues usually blend together in any (doomed) thread and foil any attempt at useful discussion.

Obama is pushing socialism.

Bush pushed "Laissez-faire Capitalism" and got us into this mess we are in....Then he handed out socialism to keep Capitalism from crashing.....Social welfare to big business and Wall Street....And Obama did it too....

"Laissez-faire Capitalism" is evil....It's unregulated greed. Those who are power (the rich) screw the little guy over....And when the little guy can't buy his goods then the rich man takes his money in the form of taxes.....Capitalism apparently needs socialism to survive (i.e., Corporate welfare)....Ain't it ironic!?!

Funny, everyday I go to work I see folks riding the social highway....Maybe they should pave their own roads....That way they could say - Mine, mine, all mine! I paid for it you can't use it!

And when you get sick and you've just paid in $2000, but get $200,000 operation...socialism pays for that....How? Folks paid in and when someone needed help you got it paid for....Can you say socialism? I can and do....

Rich men do not set and take taxes. The government does.

This makes no sense whatsoever.What is it the little guy can't buy in this country? Even the poorest of the poor here have material goods only dreamt about in third world countries.

Most of us have shelter,food,clothing etc. What are we being prevented from buying? If I cannot afford something explain why the rich man is responsible and the rich man will take his money in the form of taxes

Just who are the rich men that takes his money in the form of taxes?
