Does Karl now have access to this forum?

Yes I have access (I'm the OP on this thread,) but why should I bother? The libs just keeping mouthing their slogans. Those of us in the trenches, who are already getting slammed with government inefficiency, red tape, and pre-paid laziness seem to have no effect on libs. Why confuse them with the facts? They want some feel-good fantasy that is already ruining countries elsewhere, but they think it'll be different here.

The definition of self-delusion, IMHO, is repeating the same behaviors, but expecting different results.

The biggest tragedy in the USA is the voluntary relinquishing of liberty. We've had a God-given liberty that no other country has had and we've just been flushing it, by one government program after another. I hear the liberal mantra over and over on CA and elsewhere and it sounds just like the children of Israel: "We want to be like all those other nations!"

I don't know of other nations that mandate all citizens to buy private health insurance. Which nations are these?

More dodging, Shane?

Weren't you complaining that you didn't get what you wanted in this bill?

It is pretty common knowledge what libs are after and this is just the nose of the camel inside the tent.

Libs want the English or Canadian health care system and they intend to get it by whatever subterfuge it takes.

Sorry, Karl you have this illusion of American liberty. American's think of themselves to be have been historically freer than everyone else. It's just factually not true. My father chose the UK in the 50's because of the freedoms that existed there rather than here. More balance in your view of American liberty would help your argument.

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

There is a lot of bad stuff in this bill that I don't like. Anytime a bill is passed by one party alone there is going to be a lot of bad stuff in it.

However there are some good things in it too and it forces the next Congress and Administration to deal with this issue. The do-nothing Republicans could have addressed and solved the issue when they were in power but the punted to the Democrats and this is what we got.

I don't see a government-run universal health system becoming a reality in the US in my lifetime. Certainly not any time soon.

Very good points Shane.

By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

OK then, if the situation is even more socialist than I have been presenting here, we REALLY must get to work throwing out the libs.

Let's start as soon as possible. I can't stand much more liberal rhetoric or big government spending, and Laz says it's EVEN WORSE THAN I THOUGHT! AARRRGGHHH!

Shane seems to think we have more liberty in the USA today than we have ever had.

What do you think, Lazarus?
