Socialism You Can Believe In

Socialists

"From each according to their ability, to each according to their need." - Karl Marx

"We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism." Nikita Khrushchev, 1959 - First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union 1958 - 1964 - as relayed by Ezra Taft Benson, who was present at this meeting. (Audio)

"The Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society and.. one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that." - Barack Obama, 2001, WBEZ FM (source)

"It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody ... I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." - Barack Obama - October 11, 2008 (source)

"Certain portions of the African American community are doing as bad if not worse and recognizing that my fate remains tied up with their fates that my individual salvation is not going to come about without a collective salvation for the country. Unfortunately I think that recognition requires we make sacrifices and this country has not always been willing to make the sacrifices necessary to bring about a new day and a new age." Barack Obama, 1995 Interview regarding his book "Dreams From My Father" (Source)

"The history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles" - Karl Marx, 1848, The Communist Manifesto, Chapter 1 (source)

"We want to take money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people," Biden said. Of those who would pay more, he said: "It's time to be patriotic ... time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut." - Joe Biden - September 18, 2008 (source)

"A heavy progressive or graduated income tax." - Kark Marx, 1848, The Communist Manifesto, #2 of the "10 Planks of the Communist Manifesto" (source)

"This election is about the past versus the future. It's about whether we settle for the same divisions and distractions and drama that [pass] for politics today, or whether we reach for a politics of common sense and innovation — a politics of shared sacrifice and shared prosperity," Barack Obama - January 27, 2008 (source)

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist Professors and the structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. We smoked cigarettes and wore leather jackets. At night,in the dorms,we discussed neocolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism, and patriarchy. When we ground out our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake, we were resisting bourgeois society's stifling constraints. We weren't indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated." Barack Obama, "Dreams From My Father", 1995.

"The truth is most Americans don't want much. Folks don't want the whole pie. Most Americans feel blessed to thrive a little bit — but that's out of reach for them. The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so someone else can have more." - Michelle Obama - April 8, 2008 (source)

"Well, but the problem is, if I am sitting pretty, and you've got a waitress who is making minimum wage plus tips, and I can afford it if she can't, what's the big deal for me to say I'm going to pay a little bit more?" - Barack Obama - September 9, 2008 (source)

"Many of you are well enough off that ... the tax cuts may have helped you," Sen. Clinton said. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." - Hillary Clinton - June 28, 2004 (source)

"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted." Barack Obama, San Francisco Chronicle, Jan 2008. (Audio)

"Now in the last seven years we have had the highest corporate profit ever in American history. Highest corporate profit! We’ve had the highest productivity! The American worker has produced more per person at any time, but it hasn’t been shared, and that’s the problem because we have been guided by a republican administration who believes in this simplistic notion that people who have wealth are entitled to keep it and they have an antipathy towards the means of redistributing wealth." - Jim Moran, U.S. Congressman, D. Virginia (video)

Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame. You and only you are responsible for every decision and choice you make, period ... ... Wish more people would realize this.

"To take from one, because it is thought that his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, 'the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry, and the fruits acquired by it.'"

-- Thomas Jefferson

It will leave little doubt that you are a racist, cold hearted conservative.

Let's take it. We are much better at determining who should have it than they are. They probably want to keep it. Just because they earned it. What kind of an excuse is that? COLD HEARTED SWINE!!!!

Wait a minute,a revamped education system?? Does that mean that university professors are going to lose their tenure? Teachers unions taking a pay cut for the good of the students?School vouchers to insure a competitive quality? I think Mrs. Obama might have something here.Maybe those are the someone she's referring to.

They wouldn't have to take more from taxpayers to do that.

They could give some back.

Don't hold your breath.
