Is the NAACP racist

I didn't know Russia still had czars...

Seems Russia learned a little. Even so far as to be one warning Obama about the spending frenzy he is on.

May I summarize?

80% say that the NAACP is racist.

71% say the Tea Party will not be more racist.

And it is 50-50 regarding whether racists are racists and whether black conferences are racist.

I have to declare this thread to be the most racist in Club Adventist history.

Hm... interesting. I would have thought that my poll was easy to answer. Well, everyone knows that white people don't know how to vote, so they probably skewed the results.

Its interesting to me that not one person, even though they dislike Obama or like him, say how much this sign repulse's them, that anyone can compare Hilter or Stalin to Obama!!!!! Has Obama killed any Jews lately?????????? Like Hitler and Stalin did. If only my dad or the many Jews that suffered under these two could see the garbage (to bad I can't use the langauge that I'd like to) that these people are allowed to post on a billboard. I'm very disappointed that's for sure.

By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

It was not very smart to say the least. However if you had followed some of the members of the tea party I think it was not so much the Hitler everyone is visualizing as much as socialism starts a slippery slope.

Much of what Hitler advocated prior to everyone knowing what a monster he was is very similar to the direction Obama is heading

Than they can say that out right not hide behind a billboard and expect people to figure that out. I for one don't believe that most of the tea party are behind this. I don't think they are racist either.

Of course they should have. It has been said in other area's and by many so they may have assumed. It is entirely possible those responsible were not that concerned as to whether someone took it the wrong way.

You frequently say "the ..... have done the same thing so what"

That is true,Bush was frequently portrayed as Hitler.I do not recall the outcry.

One difference,Bush has never shown himself to be eager to be seen as friends to brutal dictators. Obama and his administration has on numerous occasions. Remember the black delegation that went to Castro. Sheila Jackson Lee said "he was kind and looked into their eyes" What tripe.

How Obama sat thru a lengthy condemnation of the US by a dictator?

Regardless, read the initial reported aims of Hitler and then take a look at the history of Obama. It is not impossible to see how some may see the similarities

No! I'm sorry there are no similarities. Obama has not killed anyone. If they compared it to socialist governments that did not kill people than I could agree but not this.

I was not implying that Obama has killed anyone. The signs were just plain stupid among other things.

Probably a little shock value was wanted as well. But isn't this where "they all do it,they are all the same'comes in

But again,Obama is not the first to be compared to Hitler. As you have said it has been done in recent history by the other side as well.I don't recall such strong disagreement then.

Personally I don't care what happened before or by whom, the signs were stupid and damaging.Whoever did it was not bright enough to figure out it hurt the tea party movement far more.

It was done by tea party impersonaters. This is the very thing they talked about doing on their website. I saw it. This was part of the plan to make the tea party look bad.

I had forgotten those people of character had said they were going to do that.

At this point I couldn't care less what the NAACP claims to think. They were the ones that lobbied the DOJ to drop the charges against the Black Panther thugs. They seem to forget what racism is when listening to the thug expressing a desire to kill

white babies.

Comparing someone to Hitler or Stalin is like the most offensive thing anyone can do. It tells us more about the person making the comparison than it does about the person being compared. Anyone who compares a modern day American politician to Hitler or Stalin is like a rapid dog that has completely lost its mind and thus its ability to rationally think. They flush their credibility down the toilet when they make such comparisons. The only modern politicians that even compare to these monsters are those guilty of committing genocide and going to war with their neighbors such as Saddam Hussein.

MLK was called a communist, socialist, and many other things "unAmerican". It's no surprise that the NAACP is still called names. The NAACP has never been loved or understood by many people in the US. No doubt if MLK survived he'd be called all kinds of names by the right and probably some on this board.

If you think the NAACP is racist that's OK. It really changes nothing of any consequence.

Yes, that's true, and I don't believe he was any of those things. You'll notice he denied all of those accusations. But the reason for the accusations-- apart from their desire to diminish his reputaiton and influence-- was because the civil rights movement did have communists and socialists in it. The communists wouldn't have minded a little violence since from their viewpoint, violence worked to their advantage. They had a different agenda from MLK. But fortunately most of the people and its leaders were Christians, which is why it stayed peaceful as a movement-- thank God.

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

When they can ignore the Black Panthers and their behavior at the same time they are whining about the tea party movement I don't take their objections to seriously.

Carrying batons to polling places and wanting to kill white babies etc should rank fairly high on the racist scale.

.

If the billboards were actually placed by a very few tea party members it was soundly criticized by the vast majority.

I have not heard any from the "black" side of the aisle to denounce the "killing of white babies"

As for MLK being condemned now,I doubt it.

Interestingly, tea people can't even bring themselves to denounce the racists that MIGHT be in their movement. Why? I can only conclude that they don't want to alienate them.

Alienate who? With the varied makeup of those attending the tea parties I doubt if showing displeasure at the stupidity and worse of a very few concerns them as far as alienating someone.

What would be the point of denouncing racists that "might be in their movement"

Tea party members were pretty quick to denounce the "offensive" billboard. That wasn't a might be or a maybe.

I did not hear the same concerning "kill white babies"

Mark Williams!!!!

Perhaps the most racist point of all in the tea parties is their demand that government "stop raising our taxes." That is outrageous! How will we Colored People ever get a wide screen TV in every room if non-coloreds get to keep what they earn? Totally racist! The tea party expects coloreds to be productive members of society?

Mr. Lincoln, you were the greatest racist ever. We had a great gig. Three squares, room and board, all our decisions made by the massa in the house. Please repeal the 13th and 14th Amendments and let us get back to where we belong.

If you posted this to indicate the mindset of those involved in the tea party movement you couldn't be more wrong.

If you spot what you(general) think is racist in anyway, that somehow means the tea party movement was based along racial lines.

Yet you conveniently overlook things like the conservative handicapped black man assallted in his wheelchair, blatant voter intimidation, and the desire to "kill white babies".

I did not hear any black organization "simply disavowing definite racist actions.

Star Parker (black columnist) on racism:

Quote:
And how are many liberals explaining why so many Americans are ticked off?

It’s because our president is black. It’s about racism.

Even me. I’m steamed. And even though I happen to be black – I’ve even spoken at some tea party rallies – I still must be a racist.

Obama’s approval rating has dropped from 70% when he was elected to 50% today. His disapproval has skyrocketed from 10% when he was elected to 42% today.

Per the Washington Post, in January 2009 58% of Americans said that the Obama presidency helped race relations. By January 2010, this was down to 40%.

Has this wave of disillusionment with Obama been driven by a sudden realization that the man Americans elected president is black?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s approval has dropped from 41% in January 2009 to 36% today and her disapproval has risen from 42% to 54%. Is she black?

Were the raucous townhalls last summer – which gave birth to the tea party movement- where irate constituents gave their representatives a piece of their mind about Obamacare, racially motivated?

Care to understand what all this is really about?

Consider a powerful observation about a former time by one of America’s great historians, Jacques Barzun. Barzun was a professor and dean at Columbia University and a Presidential Medal of Freedom winner.

“We make a great mistake in calling the American War of Independence, the “American Revolution,” he wrote. “In 1776 the Americans rebelled against recent rules and impositions. What they wanted was not a new type of government, but the old type they enjoyed. They were used to many freedoms, which they claimed as the immemorial rights of Englishmen.

Once they defeated the English armies and expelled the Loyalists, they went back to their former ways, which they modestly enlarged, and codified in the Bill of Rights.”

In a similar fashion today, Americans are rebelling as the freedom we have enjoyed, freedom which defines life in this country, is being taken away and new “rules and impositions” are being imposed.

It’s not about theory or some abstract ideology. The intense feelings flow from losing what you have and what you know is vital.

What is new today is we can no longer continue the illusion of having our cake and eating it. We can no longer afford to be both a big government entitlement state and a free, creative, and prosperous nation.
