Moderators Gerr Posted October 11, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2014 Perhaps it's a matter of semantics, but I think your premise that we are somehow held together by the thought that we are "right" is, imo, not accurate. The SDAC is held together by a body of doctrinal propositions which we believe to be most consistent with what the Book teaches. Part of the genius of the Advent Movement is its recognition that the knowledge of truth is progressive. While change may be slow and difficult, it has avoided the pit that all the Reformation and post-reformation churches have fallen into when they advanced no farther than their founders did. Gerry, Supposing that you are right about semantics: Are SDA's depicted in the parable of the 10 Virgins? 5 are wise and 5 are foolish. Is it semantics that divide the two sub-groups? Or is it rightly interpreting the word? The group that rightly divides the word are wise and led by the Holy Spirit? The group that walks in their own wisdom refuse to be led by the Holy Spirit? Do SDA's advance beyond the knowledge of the pioneers? Or do they walk in the light of the pioneers and ignore light that comes later?
