skyblue888 Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Our weakness will be united to His strength, our ignorance to His wisdom, our frailty to His enduring might only as we come to God trusting wholly in the all-sufficient merits of His infinite sacrifice. And that is why we have been admonished to daily apply to the merits of Christ that we may become vessels fit for the Master's use. sky Quote "The merits of His sacrifice are sufficient to present to the Father in our behalf." Dr. Rich Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 May I please object to this mistaken idea that Christ has done everything possible for you and that you now can't do anything to change it? Please check out the original Atonement process. First the High Priest had to be cleansed. IF this didn't happen then the next group (the priest tribe) could not in any way have their sins cleansed. But please NOTICE that the Priest Tribe had to do something for themsleves, as they could not just 'hope' their sins were taken care of my the Hight Priest. But this is the important thing to remember: Next, EACH person in the the Kingdom of Heaven (Israel) had to sacrifice something themselves in order for them to have their sins cleansed. In even ONE of them failed to do so, then what the High Priest did would not matter one hoot--for this person would have to be taken out of the KOH (Kingdom of Israel). John 17's prayer by Jesus to His Father is the key to understand how important this is. Jesus said that He became sanctified so that the disciples may (could) also become sanctified. You see, IF Jesus had not done this, then it would be useless for the disciples to strive to become sanctified. Also notice that Jesus prayed for those of us who read the words FORM THE DISCIPLES (not Paul or Luke's words) and believe in what Jesus said and taught (the Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven) could also become sanctified.
