Fausto
Hey James Spent lot of time in Topix before but I seriously get tired of all the seriously anti-SDA vibe in there. This is an interesting topic and something we need to be very careful about as God does not prescribe racialism at all, so for those who have "hard" feelings, they need to repent and seriously change attitudes so that they can gain entrance to Heaven! Overaged
I have maintained for some time now that this is the one thing that has delayed the Lord's return. Jesus declared that everyone will know his followers because they love one another. This is the sign, the seal of God. Not the Sabbath. Our Sabbath worship should be a fulfillment of that sign, not the sign itself. Until our worship demonstrates that love, the unity for which Jesus prayed in his last prayer for us, we are not sealed. As long as the Church, the body of Christ, including the Adventist Church, remains racial divided to any extent, we will remain here on earth, shackled by the mark of the beast called Babylon, the origin of all division and confusion. Choose you this day whom you will serve... The foundation of God is the fact that GOD KNOWS them that are His - 2Ti_2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his You can't say that they are His, because they do this or don't do that. And your statement re the sabbath is not Biblical either: Exo 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. Exo 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." (Job 37:21)"I cannot know why suddenly the stormshould rage so fiercely round me in it's wrathBut this I know: God watches all my pathAnd I can trust""God helps us to draw strength from the storm" - OveragedFaith makes things possible; it does not make them easy, Steps To Christ
Moderators John317 Posted August 9, 2011 Moderators Share Posted August 9, 2011 Spent lot of time in Topix before but I seriously get tired of all the seriously anti-SDA vibe in there. Yes, I know what you mean. I spent about six months over there on Topix. The moderators at Topix charge members money-- $25.00, as I recall-- in order to check out specific complaints. That was over a year ago. It could cost more now, with inflation. Hey I wonder if Stan would allow me to do that. I could get rich. LOL But seriously, the moderators on TOPIX allow anything. Pretty sickening stuff. However, I did meet a nice lady from Australia at TOPIX who is now my fellow-administrator on an Adventist forum on Face Book. So it was worth the time I spent over there. Quote John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Dr. Shane
And what are the Hispanics doing to learn to speak American? What language is "American"? Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Dr. Shane
Another reason for some people not learning English is that a person can do pretty well in places like California and Texas without learning the language. America is the fourth largest Spanish-speaking nation in the world. There is no official language in America. The role of the church is to minister to people. We are not to tell them that when they learn our language of choice then we will tell them about what Christ did for them. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor... Dr. Shane
A positive approach to addressing the sermon on 'oneness' would be more about what us as individuals, as part of the church, can do to make changes in our lives to accomplish the goal of the 'oneness' that Christ was calling for. I think we accomplish this oneness when we first and foremost identify ourselves as Adventist Christians - before our skin color and before our political citizenship. I am an Adventist Christian. It doesn't matter that I am Irish-German-Greek-Jewish American. I am an Adventist Christian before I am anything else. Dissolving regional conferences will have absolutely no impact on the oneness Jesus calls for. Quote Pastoral Family Counselor...
