teresaq Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 kings, probably 2nd I think. Funny how many times you can read something and not really see the significance...probably because I really thought about another passage I got thinking of this one... How low the people of Samaria had sunk to kill and eat one's own child. And that was not the only time God's people sank so low. We don't hear much about that even in famine areas. I'm not saying it doesn't happen...It just seems to be that God's people seem to fall far below people who never heard of God. Roman 2:23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God? 24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you... Administrators Gail Posted October 3, 2011 Administrators Posted October 3, 2011 I think that that kind of thing happened too during the siege of Jerusalem, didn't it? (Not answering the question, this is just an aside) In the story that inspired Moby Dick, the men who survived the whale attack drifted for 3 months or so before being rescued. They ate their companion in order to survive. Then there was that story of the plane crash in the Andes... It's amazing what hunger will do! Or dire circumstances... I see a topic for a new thread coming up! Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
