GROTTOES — Elsie Lee Randolph, 95, of Grottoes, died Friday Aug. 26, 2011, at Shenandoah Nursing Home in Fishersville.

Elsie was born in Grottoes on Jan. 24, 1916, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Randolph.

She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church of Grottoes and was very active in the church and the Christian Women fellowship. She worked for Dr. G.G Tanner and his wife, Janet, all her life.

She is survived by nephews, Ronald E. Arrington, Kenneth N. Arrington Jr, Edward R. Arrington; a niece, Theresa L. Arrington; Carol Landis, was raised by Elsie and was thought of as her daughter; and special friends, Mary Carroll, Jeannie Veney and Christopher Morris.

We would like to thank the great staff and residents of the Shenandoah Nursing Home in Fishersville for the excellent care and compassion given to Aunt Elsie during her stay. We also thank all of Aunt Elsie's lifelong friends, acquaintances and her extended Christian family in the Valley who are too numerous to mention and all who accepted her as their "Miss Elsie".

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, with the Rev. Roger L. Mace officiating, with the burial following at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Grottoes.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grottoes Rescue Squad, 805 Augusta Ave., Grottoes, VA 24441 or the Legacy Hospice at 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Suite 180 Charlottesville, VA 22911.
