Robert
Alcoholism is called a "dual disease"... The subject right now is tobacco. This product exist because our Capitalistic system allows it's legislators to be purchased by lobbyists. Lobbyists represents not moral values, but big money. Big Corporations are concerned not about people, but $$$. Big Tobacco wants folks addicted to their product so they can generate profits. If the government stands up to them they simply buy them out with $$$. After all, look at all the jobs and revenue that tobacco produces. That's how those in Washington reason. Robert
No one has called greed good.Get rid of your money or you are a hypocrite. how does the Bible define greed? 1 Tim 6:7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. The love of money is defined as those who "want to get rich" and this is defined by desiring to have more than "food & clothing*". * "food and covering" in the ASV, which could include shelter such as a modest home. Robert
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination. Proverbs 28:9 What does the spirit of the law state? "You shall love your neighbor as you love yourself." That means "You will have that love which seeks not her own, but another's wealth." If you turn your ear from hearing what the law states your prayer to God will be self-righteous and therefore an abomination. The fact that we engage in a system that is corrupt means we are participating in iniquity, period. Every Adventist is guilty. The law was never given to improve our status before God, it was given so that sin might become "exceeding sinful". If we can't agree that we are sinners failing to keep the spirit of the law we reject our need of Christ's righteousness.

LifeHiscost
Quote: God never promised equal outcome, even in salvation. Is that in agreement with this principle? " When those hired at five o’clock were paid, each received a full day’s wage. When those hired first came to get their pay, they assumed they would receive more. But they, too, were paid a day’s wage. When they received their pay, they protested to the owner, ‘Those people worked only one hour, and yet you’ve paid them just as much as you paid us who worked all day in the scorching heat.’ “He answered one of them, ‘Friend, I haven’t been unfair! Didn’t you agree to work all day for the usual wage? Take your money and go. I wanted to pay this last worker the same as you. Is it against the law for me to do what I want with my money? Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?’ “So those who are last now will be first then, and those who are first will be last.”" Matt 20:9-16 NLT God blesses! Quote Lift Jesus up!! bonnie
Quote: Is that in agreement with this principle? Yes it is. Or do you believe there will be equal outcome to God's promise of salvation. Assuming from all appearances and what we as humans can know, will Hitler receive the same outcome that has been promised.Only God would know if there were a true last hour repentance. If so Hitler would have received the promised outcome. Many people think that unfair after a life of hideous acts.Just as many cry foul when their efforts are less than they should be Quote: " When those hired at five o’clock were paid, each received a full day’s wage. When those hired first came to get their pay, they assumed they would receive more. But they, too, were paid a day’s wage. Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?’ “So those who are last now will be first then, and those who are first will be last.”" Matt 20:9-16 NLT This is exactly what some of us have been referring to.The first received what was promised them, they agreed to the terms, then jealousy took over and they wanted more.Had they been promised more and received less that would have been different.Maybe they should have formed a Occupy Wall Street The underlined explains it was a voluntary, not government order of kindness and it was his money to do with as he chose. Had these terms continued in just this way,all would have been lining up to work the one hour and none to work a full day Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. bonnie
Would you be so kind as to answer direct questions. Not with a bible verse but how the bible verse is to be carried out and how do you carry it out as far as possible. Robert has consistently said we must love all equally and impartially as God does. Do you love all men and women as your spouse? If you put her needs above that of others are you sinning? My husband has some special needs at this time in his life after suffering numerous strokes.Do his needs come before the neighbors in my life? His needs do not come before the neighbors with God. If you have an opportunity to do a act of kindness for someone, you feel good/happy about being able to do so,are you sinning as you are self seeking the reward of personal happiness? Simple questions, hopefully you can answer. The bible verses have all pretty much been posted. Can you tell me what those verses mean to you personally, instead of posting another verse without answer Quote Everything you do is based on the choices you make. It's not your parents, your past relationships, your job, the economy, the weather, an argument, or your age that is to blame.
