Moderators lazarus Posted January 6, 2012 Moderators Share Posted January 6, 2012 Lazarus, If you are a SDA then this is meaningful, if not it is not, Well, I haven't seen your baptismal certificate or music collection so I'm not sure if you are an SDA either. Perhaps you have not spent a lot of time studying this issue. EGW has made various comments about the pillars of our faith. Many times she uses the word pillars. She thought there was more than one. In her mind present truth was evolving so clearly as early Adventists developed their theology truth was added to truth. "We must let the great principles of the third angel's message stand out clear and distinct. The great pillars of our faith will hold all the weight that can be placed upon them." {GCB, January 1, 1900 par. 1} Led of God, but Not Infallible.--We must not think, "Well, we have all the truth, we understand the main pillars of our faith, and we may rest on this knowledge." The truth is an advancing truth, and we must walk in the increasing light. {CW 33.2} Let the truths that are the foundation of our faith be kept before the people. Some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. It is not the science of humility, of consecration, or of the sanctification of the Spirit. We are now to understand what the pillars of our faith are,--the truths that have made us as a people what we are, leading us on step by step.-- Review and Herald, May 25, 1905. {CW 29.1} There are a number of quotes that indicate what the other pillars are. I'll leave that for you to discover. . Quote Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.
