teresaq
Scenario Five churches, all women, no men, no children. Would it be appropriate to have a male pastor, married or unmarried? Just curious as to thoughts regarding the possibility. Quote facebook. /teresa.quintero.
Administrators Naomi Posted December 30, 2011 Administrators Share Posted December 30, 2011 Interesting question: I can become complicated ... but as with any human venture it would depend on the pastor and his character/relationship with God. I would think having children would be a big plus Quote If your dreams are not big enough to scare you, they are not big enough for God
cooldude
I take it this has to do with the issue of women's ordination. Don't we find it at all odd that a church that looks to the inspiration of a woman for theological guidance is so staunchly opposed to recognizing the service of women who are already functioning as leaders? Gibs
Really only God can ordain anyone to go preach His Word. We each are the ones to decide if the person preaching is ordained. All an ordination is or amounts to is what they think has been ordained of God, but not necessarily so. There is many out there preaching His Word Ordained of Him but not recognized of men, what differece does it make to us if it is a man or woman? What matters is hear for a bit and you will know if you have the Spirit of God in you. If you don't you'll probably be deceived. Christ in you is the Hope of Glory, then read 1 John 4:4 Quote A Freeman In Jesus Christ
Stan
My experience has been this, several single moms want to have a STRONG male Pastor just so their children can have a least one positive male role model.. I am NOT speaking against female Pastors here at all. Please understand this. teresaq
In the OP the women had no children. Just a bunch of ladies and one male. For mothers who want a pastor to be a "strong" male role model for their children that would mean the pastor would need to be fairly involved with that child for it to have any real meaning, would it not? Overaged
LOL; if the male Pastor were single, I can see how there would be some real problems. Overaged
Gibs; God has to call someone to be ordained; and He appoints "men" to ordain in His name, but certainly, anyone ordained for anything has to be called by God. Quote "People [rarely] see...the bright light which is in the clouds..." cricket
If those women met together at any time other than the 9:00 to 12:00 time slot on Sabbath, it would be called "Women's Ministries". Another thought--what's up with the community? Have all the men passed away, have the women taken over, is there a war on?

Dr. Rich
Well duh? I can tell you many stories where the male pastor got into serious trouble because of the EASY prey (lonely females) in situations like this. My present wife was a victim of her then SDA pastor husband who fell for this sort of thing. Your playing with fire!
teresaq
I would think so. Not to mention that we are told to give no appearance of evil... Quote facebook. /teresa.quintero.
