She was born in Moxee, Washington, August 19, 1921. She married Willis E. Campbell in 1937 at age 16. Together she and her sweetheart worked in the apple orchards surrounding Yakima, Washington, until starting their nursing and retirement community development/operations business in 1947 at Union Gap, Washington. They called home to several locations; Tacoma, Washington; Kirkland, Washington; Fall City, Washington; and moved to the ranch between Canyonville & Days Creek, Oregon, in 1982. Both were members of the Canyonville Seventh Day Adventist church; Canyonville, Oregon. She was survived by son; Karl Campbell and wife Patricia; daughter Trudy Wentland and husband Daryl; Mary Knight and husband Jim; Melody Kolstad and husband Kelly; many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Mary Lane and husband Dick; and her care providers Melody Kolstad, Evelyn Terry, Cheris Martin and Justine Breyer. She was preceded in death by her husband Willis, 1994, son Gale, 1955; daughter Kay Smith, 1981; daughter Pearl Barnes and husband Floyd, 2009; granddaughter Marcia Marie Wentland, 1981 and grandson Jay Smith, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., January 7, 2012 at Roseburg Memorial Gardens; Roseburg, Oregon. Tootie as she preferred to be called will ever remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew her as the sweet person that exemplified unconditional love; "I do not always like you but know I always love you."
