Nope. All scientific claims wrong again. (The media said what they said.)

Go do some research and find out how.

I am going to do something...I'm going to repeat myself...

PLease go look at Rev 16:8

8 The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. 9 Men were scorched with fierce heat; and they blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give Him glory.

Is the claims of global warming some sort of precursor to the 7 last plagues?

Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.

Scientists from 1974 had the same multiple-eon data as scientests today. Adding 32 years (to 2006) does not radically change the truth. Conclusions from 1974 are more correct because todays "conclusions" are politically motivated. There is more money to be made selling hotter climate and giving central government more reason to curb individual freedoms. Liberals want hotter climate to be true.

It's all a ploy to bring cap and trade in.

Don't just be led blindly into the brain washing. Learn what they are really after.

1977:

• Climate change is happening faster than we realize and it will have catastrophic consequences for mankind.

• There’s very little we can do to stop it at this late stage, but we might be able to save ourselves if we immediately take these necessary and drastic steps:

- Increase our reliance on alternative energy sources and stop using so much oil and other carbon-based fuels;

- Adopt energy-efficient practices in all aspects of our lives, however inconvenient;

- Impose punitive taxes on inefficient or polluting activities to discourage them;

- Funnel large sums of money from developed nations like the U.S. to Third World nations;

- In general embrace all environmental causes.

Sounds familiar, right? These are exactly the same efforts that global warming alarmists are stating must be done to deal with impending consequence of global climate change. In both cases that there is call to “cede power and money from the First World to the Third World”. This is already happening: at the conclusion of the most recent United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Durban, South Africa, there was an agreement to set up bodies that will collect, govern and distribute funds to poor countries adversely affected by climate change.

The true purpose of climate change disaster-mongering is to permanently cripple the First World, and to elevate the Third World, in order to create a planet with no economic inequality, thus paving the way for collective global coercion.

The goal remains constant; the supposed imminent catastrophes justifying it come and go as needed.

Pretty amazing how these socialist conspirators have managed to make 8 of the hottest years on record happen in the past decade... despite the fact that apparently we're cooling toward an ice age.

Seriously, dude: when does spreading a lie that you know is a lie become lying?

You are way off base with this kind of thing dude. offtopicayeyiyi

I suggested that he check the evidence for himself. I already know that all the scientific claims in the article he posted are not true.

If you want, I'm happy to post the evidence. It's more productive if people find it for themselves, because they are less likely to assume I've cherry-picked it.

It is not a matter of opinion that the acceleration due to gravity at the earth's surface is about 9.8 m/s/s or 32 ft/s/s. It's a simple fact.

It is not a matter of opinion whether the world has cooled in the past decade, it's a simple fact.

Claiming otherwise is being misled, until someone corrects you.

Then it's lying.

Then it's lying.

That is NOT "a matter of fact" Good grief; is everyone who disagrees with you on matters of science; (which the Douglas article isn't about) lying?

They're not disagreeing with me. They're disagreeing with reality.

Would it be lying to say 'the acceleration due to gravity is 200 m/s/s'?

We are NOT talking about gravity here. No one here is "lying." Stick to the OP like you told us all to do earlier.

Olger made new claims. I've already addressed all the claims in the OP. People can take or leave that information, but I showed that the OP was utterly filled to the brim with misinformation.

As I said, happy to bring the evidence on olger's claims too.

If people make false scientific claims, I will correct them. It's one of the things I do here, and many people appreciate it.

I don't have that .sig just for a laugh.

There are three scientific claims in olger's post:

1. Scientists predicted an ice age in the 70s. I've already addressed that one in this thread. Twice.

2. The climate has been cooling for the past decade.

3. Antarctic ice levels are increasing.

On claim 2:

"> " type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">

On claim 3:

http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2011/03/under-and-over-the-ice/

Graph b is the key one. A very strong downward trend in Antarctic ice.

Those claims are simply false. That is a matter of fact.

Incidentally, that video is from 2009. 2010 was the hottest (or equal hottest) year in the record. 2011 was the 10th hottest, and the hottest on record for a La Nina year.

You don't keep on making new records for hottest year, despite variations in other factors like ocean currents and solar output, if climate is cooling.

It simply is not.

Global climate is the sum of local places and times. it is quite relevant??

No actually Bravus is wrong with his assumptions. The "anecdotal evidence" in letters was researched.

When I read letters of ancestors in Europe cutting holes in the roof of their homes to get out because of snow and then having to shovel thru two feet on top of that I did a little more research.We haven't seen much of that in current years.

Family members in KY wrote of the extreme weather in 1816

I think it was called the summer that wasn't. Snow and ice were very common in June and July

There is a lot to indicate extreme weather patterns long before the auto or modern industry

True Bonnie. Old Vernon Stickley (God rest him) told me of a summer where it snowed in July here in Ohio (Darke County). Said it "was unusually cold that whole dang summer."

Our research spanned England,Sweden,Denmark,Germany,Scotland,Mt,New York,Canada,KY

and others since the 1600's. The story is the same.Research confirmed what Bravus dismissed in family letters.We did not invent extreme weather or cause it.But we do know it will get worse and we do know puny silly men/scientist lack the ability to change it

I am sensing two things in this thread.

1) That there is a core emotional investment among some to believe "man-caused global warming."

2) That education is thought to provide all the answers, and freely lifts itself over what it regards as non-educated individuals. This is un-sanctified pride at work. There are many types of education, and some of them close more doors than they open.

May I point out something to this esteemed religious board....?

One of the seven last plagues is that the sun increases it's intensity and men become scorched...See Revelation 16:8ff....

Now, without trying to decipher the when this is going to happen, does anyone here doubt that this verse points to 'a global warming'?

Most take it for what it is.

God says "Go and pour out the bowls of wrath of God on the earth" Amazing how anyone thinks we can prevent that no matter what we do.What is the cause for the rest of the plagues?

Sorry, wrong on both those things too, o.g.

There is emotion in the quest for truth.

Education is irrelevant: anyone can put in the work to find the truth.
