"Mo" Asher was called home to be with the Lord March 29, 2012 at Golden Living Center Golden Rule after a long Illness. She was born April 17, 1926 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Mert and Alta Hauseknecht and lived here most of her life. She worked as a secretary for a dentist in Kalamazoo, she and her late husband owned three Asher's Variety Stores in Kalamazoo; she worked as server at L&L diner and retired as a supervisor at powerhouse. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and loved to dance. She is survived by her daughter in law Lisa (Gary) Wheeler, two grandsons Russell L. (Angie) Asher II, Scott J. (Victoria) Asher, granddaughter Angela R. (Shane) Aslinger all of Richmond, five step great grandchildren and three nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Isaac R. Asher, who died in 1999; and son Russell L. Asher. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
