Stan Posted May 7, 2012 Share Posted May 7, 2012 Jesus Echevarria, 89, of Vineland passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012, in South Jersey Extended Care, Bridgeton, following a lengthy illness. Jesus was born on March 25, 1923, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, and lived in Vineland most of his life. He was one of the original pioneers of the Vineland Seventh Day Adventist Church, and more recently a founder and active member of the Inglesia Adventista Del Septimo Dia Panamericana, serving as first deacon and elder. [img:right]http://cmsimg.thedailyjournal.com/apps/p...s-Echevarria-89 Jesus is survived by his wife, Hilda (Acosta) Echevarria of Vineland; and eight children, Bert (Elsa) of Florida, Samuel (Ana), Hilda (Beny), Doris (Willie), Frank (Sandra), Robert (Yvette) and Evelyn (Juan), all of Vineland, and Moses (Kelly) of Hopewell Twp.; two sisters, Lala Echevarria of Puerto Rico and Ada Echevarria of Florida; and brother, Antonio Echevarria of Puerto Rico; as well as 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Inglesia Adventista Del Septimo Dia Panamericana, 765 S. Sixth St., Vineland, with the Rev. Carlos Torres officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Visitation hours are Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and again Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.
