David_McQueen
I was on my way back from training and heard a lot of commotion on the way back to the university I work at. There have been a number of explosions on the underground and buses. Some quite close to where I work and at this time we lift prayers for those who have been affected or injured. aldona
I was just going to put up a post to see if anybody had more information... Just saw it on the TV, the last report said 6 explosions on trains and one on a bus, with unknown numbers of casualties...and Prime Minister Blair made a statement saying he was going to leave the G8 summit and travel back to London. Good to see that you're safe! aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music? Moderators Nan Posted July 7, 2005 Moderators Share Posted July 7, 2005 I heard it first on my way home about 8.30 pm here - I gather Tony Blair will go to London then return to the G8 meetings. What is happening at Kings Cross station sounds bad, there could be a lot of casualties down there. Glad you and I presume yours are safe David. David_McQueen
FOr the record we have had 33 fatalaties. I went into work an hour early today and the bus that exploded was on the route that I walk in. A couple of close friends missed the bomb at Edgware Road and Aldgate by a matter of seconds. I have since come home but I give God both praise for spared life and pray for comfort for those families who lost people. Theories are out about coincidence with the G8 conference, etc, etc but London has always been on high alert of a subsequent terror attack since New York and Madrid and many people dont think this is the last we have seen of this. What has been interesting though is the reaction by people to these incidents from pure panice to nonchalence. When news agencys report on things of this nature, lots of theories and speculations on the street abound, but not much in the way of rumors on the street. What is your take on this David? Is it a reaction to the G8 confrence or retaliation from Iraq/Iran/afghanistan? Is it a muslim attack? What about the IRA? IOWs, who, on the street, is this possibly from? So far, none of these things have been reported, but lots of scuttlebutt regarding a Iran/Iraq/ muslim retaliation...at least here on the West Coast.... And lest I forget it, we are glad for you and Mad. and the girls being safe and unharmed. We will continue to pray for your safety and your witness to the community. Dr. Shane
I am glad to hear you and your family are well. I was inspired by Tony Blair's comments. aldona
Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with the British people. The bomb attacks have been condemned by a number of Arab states, including Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and others. Read the report here Even though many in the Arab world hate the West, we do have many friends and allies there as well. aldona Quote www.asrc.org.au (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Melbourne)Helping over 2000 refugees & asylum seekers each monthIMSLP/Petrucci Music LibraryThe Public Domain Music Score Library - Free Sheet Music DownloadsLooking for classical sheet music? ChildofChrist
I was enjoying a troubled night's rest. Finally decided to bounce out and see whether anyone acknowledged this terrible and sad event...yet I had already checked TownHall on Thursday morning AND Friday evening, Human's InHumanity Towards other Humans, I will never understand. Must be a 'man thing' as well as misplaced anger. I am thankful to hear that you and the ladies are safe, David. When will He come?
