Keeping the Sabbath means to keep it as God intends for it to be - for all we come in contact with.

If that means using my skills to remove a stumbling block from another which prevents their resting in God, I will do so, as that is precisely what Jesus did on the Sabbath.

If that stumbling block is a worldly pursuit, I will refrain from it. If that stumbling block is removing a condition that prevents them joining the people of God for service, I will do that as well.

It is not about whether I am keeping Sabbath or not...it is about whether I am enabling someone else to keep Sabbath if they want to.

Jesus' argument about Sabbath-keeping was NEVER whether or not the Sabbath was to be kept, but rather what constituted God-directed and God-empowered Sabbath-keeping according to His Word.

He worked to remove stumbling blocks like disease, withered hands, and demonic possession from those desiring to keep Sabbath, and as His custom was, was in synagogue for prayer and worship as an example to those thinking faith itself is the stumbling block. Christ's Sabbath keeping was never about Him being right on Sabbath...it was being about His Father's business.

Blessings,

"As iron sharpens iron, so also does one man sharpen another" - Proverbs 27:17

"The offense of the cross is that the cross is a confession of human frailty and sin and of inability to do any good thing. To take the cross of Christ means to depend solely on Him for everything, and this is the abasement of all human pride. Men love to fancy themselves independent. But let the cross be preached, let it be made known that in man dwells no good thing and that all must be received as a gift, and straightway someone is offended." Ellet J.
