Saint or Sinner?

How do you define a saint? The word "saint" is derived from the Latin "sancti" which simply means, "holy."

So, could the question alternatively be "Holy or Unholy?"

We are Saints in that we have accepted the relationship with Jesus. We are sinners as we have a sinful nature; a disposition with in us to think we are for ourselves by making less of the outside world, by esteaming our selves more highly than our breathern, something in us that does not want everything and everyone to be the best they can be.

Some will be looking to themselves to change, but as we look more and more to Jesus, then the change happens, and we start to love the world as Jesus has loved it....However even this will be tainted by selfishness, until glorification, but we become sinners choosing against selfishness, trying to control or dismis others, and start to respect them as who they are and encourage the best in them.

Friend:

There is a Biblical explaination of "saint" that takes priority over Latin, in my mind. Biblical saints are people sanctified. The sanctified, whether material goods, animals, or people, is that which is set apart, or dedicated to God.

If you have dedicated yourself to God, you are a saint.

Can you be a sinner while being a saint?

a) The ultimate answer to sin will only be found in eternity.

B) We can be in a state where God does not charge us with sin. That does not mean that we are without sin.
