Death of Goldie Estelle Couch

Goldie Estelle Couch passed to her rest on Monday, Sept. 26, 2005. She was a faithful member of the Ocala, FL, Seventh-day Adventist Church. Goldie is my mother-in-law for I am married to her son, Bob Couch. She was a very intelligent lady - a bookkeeper by trade. In addition, most of her life she taught a Sabbath School Class, was the church organist or pianist as needed on an annual basis. If your heart is where your money is, then her heart was in the many ministries of the church such as Quiet Hour, Evangelism, and just about everything else. It was very revealing to take over her accounts the last two years she lived in a nursing home. She had a meager social security income, yet she paid tithe and offerings plus a number of special projects. She always had a cheerful smile. She was 87 years old at her death. She will be missed, but we shall see her again at the Second Coming. I forgot to mention that she married my husband's dad when his first wife passed away, leaving four children behind, Ages 7, 10, 14, 16. It takes a big heart to move into a household with four children and win their love and confidence. The secret to her life was prayer. She spent close to an hour a day in prayer and we were all blessed from that. The four children are all still alive. Their names are (in order of birth): Barbara Pierce, Gloria Blanton Couch, Robert M. Couch, Jr., and Ruth Marie Self. In addition, Goldie had 8 grandchildren: Pattie Shanko, Douglas McKenzie, Debbie Golden, Robert Couch, III, Richard Couch, David Self, Stephen Self, Jimmy Self. She also had 4 great grandaughters and 12 great grandsons. <img src="/ubbtreads/images/graemlins/sparkleheart.gif" alt="" />

Praying for healing in your lives. No matter what hope we have...death is still painful! May Jesus be especially close to you this weekend.
