Sojourner
Personally I have always thought that the lie of the Prosperity Gospel has been one of Satans best tools to break up and destroy churches after it is embraced and people begin going bankrupt and losing their homes and so forth as a result. These people are never pushed forward to the microphone to testify, yet they are very much out there, often so burnt by it that they will never enter another church again. Guess its no surprise then that after the likes of Jimmy Bakker and others that comedians might well begin openly mocking them? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QNulAWZC...e&index=
Administrators Gail Posted May 14, 2014 Administrators Share Posted May 14, 2014 I have a struggle to be content wherever I am... no need to feed the need for me! It's a good topic for discussion, though! While John wishes that his children would prosper and be in good health, and Jabez prayed that his territory was enlarged, Solomon was awarded his riches after he prayed for wisdom. Quote Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
Members phkrause
Great post and link Sojourner. Its pretty sick what Christianity has come to. But yet we have those that are so content with how things are, they can't see what's right ahead of them!! Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
Stan
The opposite is also truth, and prevails many places, that God wants people to be uneducated and poor. LifeHiscost
Quote: Solomon was awarded his riches after he prayed for wisdom. And yet the witness of his father David seemed to have greater influence on his life than all the wisdom that God gave him. What does that tell us about our personal testimony to the glory of God, in just our daily living habits? BTW, does anyone have any Biblical evidence that Solomon will enter the Kingdom of Heaven? Aliensanctuary
Unfortunately for those "blessed" with far more money than they need, they won't be able to squeeze through that narrow gate that leads to life with all that money in their pockets. The problem is that the rich selfishly surround themselves with all the stuff that money can buy while neglecting those who can't even afford to go to a doctor or dentist, or, who have to sleep on the streets and beg for food. The rich take advantage of those who have far less in order to enrich themselves. In this life that's expected, but in the future the poor can expect far better treatment. All members of the Kingdom of YHVH will make sure other's needs are met before their own. Of course, this won't happen until the next life.
