What would the citizens of this or any country want it's government to do, in order to ensure their safety? Hamas is getting the response they wanted/expected. Tis an old tactic, stage your weapons where retaliation will get you the most publicity by being close to civilians. Terrorists have little regard for their own, expecting them to absorb the punishment for their future greater good....or so they are told. I think it is difficult for those who never have to experience such type of living/war/terror with out actually living under those conditions, either side, to actually understand or to have an opinion based on knowledge. Peaceful solutions have been proposed for many years and governments to limited success. Israel is not wanted in that region, plain and simple. I don't believe that peace would/will be long lasting in that region what ever concessions Israel would make with the Palestinians. Violence is the solution to every disagreement in the world today. As long as weapons making is part of any economy, violence will continue. It is the fuel for the fires. Live by the sword, die by the sword...true for history, true for today. One could hardly think otherwise with all the pain and suffering going on around the world today. The forces of evil in the world today certainly seem to be in even greater abundance than ever before. Yes, just as Hamas' declaration of war and their long-term acts of violence have led to Israel's attempts to shut the attacks down, for a few more years, at least. If the members of Hamas and Fatah were normal, decent people, the best solution would, of course, be political where nobody dies from guns and bombs. Now, wouldn't the history of WW2 be quite different if, on D-Day, the allies loaded the forward ships and landing craft with women and children, while the soldiers with weapons hid behind them. Terrorists, I believe, are mentally about three years old, capable of focusing on one thing, then throw horrible head-banging tantrums if they can't have it. Three-year-olds with deadly weapons are impossible to reason with. If 100 Gazans die for every Jew that is killed is a small price to pay, in their minds, for the satisfaction of having one less Jew in the world. Real men don't hide rockets in schools and residential areas, only douche bags. Sadly, Israel will someday find itself outnumbered and outgunned when Islamic Nations sweep across Israel killing every man, woman and child they can find in an insatiable murdering frenzy. Only those who escape to Egypt will survive. I believe that the descendants of these exiles of Israel will re-establish communications with YHVH, ushering in a new age of peace for mankind. The story doesn't end there, though, since the Jew-Haters rise up once again to slaughter the followers of YHVH, who, in the end, intervenes, vaporizing the demonic, bloodthirsty butchers. Once Self is eliminated from human nature, all will be well. Humans will only conduct themselves for the greater good of all. Any idea of harming others cannot occur to those who have been chosen to join the Kingdom of YHVH. All memory of evil will be erased, and the universe can once again sing for joy, because evil is no more. I think you analysis doesn't take into account the reality of what it means to fight for freedom. Do you thin the angels of heaven are with Israel? So you basically defend the terrorists and condemn Israel. I'd say your moral compass is more than slightly off kilter. Hamas launches its rockets from hospitals, schools, residences, etc... at the Isreali population, and then you condemn Isreal, who tells the Palestinian citizens ahead of time that they are going to bomb certain places or send troops there, for the civilian casualties. Hamas tells the civilians that they must stay when the Isrealis tell them they are going to respond to being attacked from certain locations. Who is in the wrong? Hamas. They want to see Palestinians killed. The Isrealis do all they can to avoid killing civilians, but not nation can allow thousands of rocket attacks against their population to happen without responding. Just imagine London being hit with thousands of rockets a week from the IRA. Do you really think the British government would just do nothing? Do you really think you would say the IRA terrorists had the moral high ground the British government was responsible for all civilian casualties when they responded in defense of their own people? Until that occurs, they will keep firing rockets at Israel, despite the mounting human death toll. Can't imagine what Hamas would bring in if that ever takes place. Not that they wouldn't bring in tanks, artillery, and other weapons to continue their assault on Israel until every last Jew is dead. Hamas consists of men who have no honor, who are driven by hate, and who care nothing for human life. Now why doesn't the world, and the UN, condemn Hamas for violating the rules of war by putting civilians at risk when they launch rockets from homes, schools, hospitals, etc.? I recall a few years back that a shipment of Bibles was confiscated and burned in Iran. There was no worldwide uproar or demonstrations against Islam by Christians. When one copy of the Quran was burned by an American pastor, the Islamic world erupted into flag-burning rock-throwing curse-chanting death-to-America demonstrations. What's wrong with Muslims in general that they become so intolerant of others and resort to deadly violence over nothing? If Hamas and the Palestinian government had actually spent the hundreds of millions of dollars they have gotten on helping their own people by doing things like building an educational system for their own people, investing in businesses to provide employment, etc... the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip would be far better off, and they would be living in peace instead of being at war. Instead Hamas used many millions of dollars to build extensive underground tunnels to be used to attack Israel, and buy up extensive armaments be used to attack Israel. I've seen people here condemning Israel for not allowing cement, building supplies, etc... into the Gaza Strip. Even with them making it very difficult to get those things into Gaza Hamas still built many miles of tunnels for the explicit purpose of being used to murder innocent civilians. I have to laugh at that because it's something these same people would loudly condemn their government for not doing if where they lived was under attack the same way Israel is. Israel is fighting for its existence against enemies who are committed to not only destroying the state of Israel, but to wiping out the Jewish people. If their enemies were given the tools they would commit genocide against the Jews in a heartbeat. The head of the Al Arabiya news organization was being interviewed on NewsMax tv the other day and the interviewer brought up the right of Isreal to survive as a Jewish state. The guy from Al Arabiya got so mad he walked off and ended the interview right there because, in his terms, saying that Isreal has the right to survive was spreading "Israeli propaganda". This kind of hatred is what the Israeli's are up against. Their enemies will accept only the destruction of the entire Jewish population worldwide.
