By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}

I remember when he was president of Northern New England. For homiletics classes a church in Mane and one in Vermont frequently asked if I could come back to preach in them, and he and I had a few good talks when he came to visit AUC. I am sad to hear of his death. I see that his book is out of print. It is sad that the good books quickly go out of print.

Perhaps it is because good books provoke thought.

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

I remember him from Acadamy days in TX. He was the students favorite speaker for week of prayer. i believe we had him on campus more thatn once. He was ahead of most current religious thought at the time. Avery friendly person and real.

He was my pastor when I was a member of the Collegedale (Southern Adventist University) church.  Everyone really enjoyed his sermons, personal though they became sometimes.
