Members phkrause
Noted Preacher John Loor Sr. is Dead at 87 By AT News Team, Jan. 23, 2015: The well known and widely beloved Adventist preacher, Pastor John R. Loor, Sr. passed to his rest last week. http://atoday.org/noted-preacher-john-loor-sr-dead-87.html Charlessr, WelchGary, RidallBug and 1 other 4 Quote phkrause By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near. {5T 451.1}
Moderators Kevin H Posted January 31, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 31, 2015 I remember when he was president of Northern New England. For homiletics classes a church in Mane and one in Vermont frequently asked if I could come back to preach in them, and he and I had a few good talks when he came to visit AUC. I am sad to hear of his death. I see that his book is out of print. It is sad that the good books quickly go out of print.
Administrators Gail Posted January 31, 2015 Administrators Share Posted January 31, 2015 Perhaps it is because good books provoke thought. Moderators james423 Posted February 7, 2015 Moderators Share Posted February 7, 2015 He was my pastor when I was a member of the Collegedale (Southern Adventist University) church. Everyone really enjoyed his sermons, personal though they became sometimes. Quote James Brenneman
