The Bethlehem-based news agency Ma’an has cited a Kuwaiti newspaper report Saturday, that US President Barack Obama thwarted an Israeli military attack against Iran's nuclear facilities in 2014 by threatening toshoot down Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.

Following Obama's threat, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was reportedly forced to abort the planned Iran attack.

According to Al-Jarida, the Netanyahu government took the decision to strike Iran some time in 2014 soon after Israel had discovered the United States and Iran had been involved in secret talks over Iran’s nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel's back.

The report claimed that an unnamed Israeli minister who has good ties with the US administration revealed the attack plan to Secretary of StateJohn Kerry, and that Obama then threatened to shoot down the Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.

Al-Jarida quoted "well-placed" sources as saying that Netanyahu, along with Minister of Defense Moshe Yaalon, and then-Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, had decided to carry out airstrikes against Iran's nuclear program after consultations with top security commanders.

According to the report, “Netanyahu and his commanders agreed after four nights of deliberations to task the Israeli army's chief of staff, Benny Gantz, to prepare a qualitative operation against Iran's nuclear program. In addition, Netanyahu and his ministers decided to do whatever they could do to thwart a possible agreement between Iran and the White House because such an agreement is, allegedly, a threat to Israel's security.”

The sources added that Gantz and his commanders prepared the requested plan and that Israeli fighter jets trained for several weeks in order to make sure the plans would work successfully. Israeli fighter jets reportedly even carried out experimental flights in Iran's airspace after they managed to break through radars.

Brzezinski's idea

Former US diplomat Zbigniew Brzezinski, who enthusiastically campaigned for Obama in 2008, called on him to shoot down Israeli planes if they attack Iran. “They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?” said the former national security advisor to formerPresident Jimmy Carter in an interview with the Daily Beast

“We have to be serious about denying them that right,” he said. “If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a 'Liberty' in reverse.’"

Israel mistakenly attacked the American Liberty ship during the Six-Day War in 1967.

Brzezinski was a top candidate to become an official advisor to President Obama, but he was downgraded after Republican and pro-Israel Democratic charges during the campaign that Brzezinski’s anti-Israel attitude would damage Obama at the polls.

I would think that my post (#7) regarding the world of Islam and it's relationship to NAZI philosophy and the current Us regime is still a valid concern:

I do not know if the report that President Obama threatened to shoot down the fighter jets is accurate.

However, I do know that such would be in compliance with International law.

Anyone who might want to begin their study of this subject will find a lot of reference material that would be helpful at:

There isn't anything in the article that says it would not be in compliance with international law.

It would be no great surprise if Obama gives Iran some nukes in order to use on Israel. I wouldn't pay any attention to what he says, it's what he does in secret that we should fear. Obama, like most Muslims, hates Jews and Christians, maybe not openly, but we can see his God-hating tentacles spreading across our country.

If we study and practice the teachings of Christ, we will be safe, even if we are persecuted, tortured, and killed. Ultimately, the whole world will hate Jews and Christians, but Christ has already told us this would happen.

Today's Israel is doomed, but from its ashes and exiles will rise the foundation and forefathers of the Restored Kingdom of Israel, backed not by human power, but the power of YHVH who can rain fire from the sky on the demonic hordes, once again trying to obliterate the people of YHVH and erase the memory of their existence.

I would not quite go so far as to say Israel is doomed. I am quite sure they have taken into account the US actions currently and are looking at alternatives. The people who should be most worried are the people of Iran who have to worry what their government will do in the light of the fact that Israel is a nuclear nation and has had amazing success against all Arab military forces throughout their modern history.

You opinions on this matter are a great example of the collective disillusion that has swept through the conservative movement. Conservatives are increasingly attaching themselves to wild opinions that they have to walk back when the get a moment of sanity  or perhaps a word with their advisers. Unfortunately for them they are ensuring that another Bush will get the nod.

Ultimately, the whole world will hate Jews and Christians, but Christ has already told us this would happen.

Jesus did not say the world would hate Christians. He said they would hate his disciples/followers. I don't know where you get "the jews" bit from. The Jews hated Him and demanded his execution. It's quite interesting that Christians give millions to a people who reject Jesus. The Bible has some stiff things to say about those who reject the reality of Jesus Christ. Culture, money and power tops truth and the Word of God for Christianity in the western world. Evangelical support for Israel is the greatest example of apostasy at work.

Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

Point in semantics taken. But as we can see, Jews and Christians are already being persecuted and killed, either because of their status as "followers" of Christ, or their "connection" to YHVH via their ancestry. This phenomena will likely continue to spread as the world becomes more and more Muslim and/or anti-God. Ultimately, those who do not love and serve YHVH will persecute and kill his followers thinking they're doing their god a favor. This would tend to sort out the wheat from the chaff, the true from the false, and the doers from the professors only.

What will we be thinking when the knife is held at our throats and our lives are about to end?

Mr. Obama seems to have a well-established track record as a liar, and his 2nd-term arrogance makes me think that he has something nefarious planned for America.

One might think that any nuclear attack on Israel would be more or less suicide.

My point was more than the use of words. There are many who claim the title Christian but are not followers. They don't attend church, they don't ready the Bible, they don't pray or follow the tenets of Bible in their daily lives. For many the word Christian is a cultural and political designation. Politicians exploit this and draw to themselves those who are culturally Christians but wouldn't know when the Spirit of God is working. These will believe lies (like Obama is a Muslim) and support policies that are explicitly against the Word of God.

Many of the people killed by ISIS were not killed because they were followers of Jesus but because they identify politically and culturally with the west.

The 2012 election was supposed to be cancelled.

Remember that martial law was supposed to be coming.

Barack Obama was going to change the military oath so that soldiers would swear allegiance to him personally.

Obama has issued more executive orders than any president in history

Blah, blah, blah, What make you believe these kind of lies?

I don't either.  The "Jews" represent only 2 of the 12 tribes of Israel.  The other 10 tribes have been dispersed among the nations (aka gentiles).  Ever since Jereboam, the writers of scripture have made a disctinction between Judah/Jews and the nation of Israel.  Scripture is quite clear that Israel (both ethnic and spiritual) will be almost wiped out, save for an end-time remnant.  Reading the signs of the times, militant  Islam appears bent on destroying Judaism and followers of Christ (as well as anyone else that doesn't embrace their specific theology).

At some future time before the end, God will call Israel out of the nations; and those lost tribes will regain their Hebrew identity and be returned to their homeland.

Did you know that a study of Native American mitochondrial DNA shows that they have Hebrew roots?

Jesus' prophetic warning of persecution of his followers was for the Last Days, not our time anyway. By the end of that time period, the true and the false will already have been sorted out.

I don't know why I have a deep suspicion of Mr. Obama. Maybe it's just his 2nd-term arrogance, but his actions are far more revealing than his speeches.

I haven't heard of any of these statements until your post.
