Adventist Today has begun posting the story of the spiritual journey of a former member of Club Adventist.

In the beginning my desire was to publish this material as a book.  As I worked on this project this did not work out and the best that I was able to accomplish was to reach and agreement with Adventist Today to have it published on the Internet in an ongoing form.  The advantage in doing this was that ATs Internet audience is much larger than is the print edition of their magazine.

During the process of working with Adventist Today I have continued to discuss the possibility of publishing this material as a book.  Included in this discussion has been the idea of The Adventist Today Foundation    playing a role in publishing it as a book.    Discussion has also involved self-publishing to include having it published and sold by Amazon.

This discussion has increased my understanding of what is involved in bringing a book to market considerably.  These steps include:

1)  Manuscript editing, which is much more than what is required to post on the Internet--a poorly edited book does not sell well.

2) Cover design.

3) Interior design of the book.

4) printing.

5) Marketing--you have got to get people to purchase the book.

6) Sales & distribution--the purchased book has to be mailed to a purchaser.

Each of these steps has a price that needs to be paid in order to bring a book to market.  Even when an agreement is reached that some of the steps will be provided free of charge, the bottom line is that funding is required for the steps that remain.

The bottom line is that the funding does not exist to bring this book to market.  I believe that God has led in the publication of this material that is now taking place.  But, at this time the funding is not in place to take it to a marketable book.
